I love Firehawks. I think I would keep it and dump some money into it.
X 2. the cobras will depreciate faster than the Firehawk. Don't get me wrong, the cobra is a sweet ride but iv'e owned 28 cars and only 2 where fords. Didn't like em. I spend more time under the hood of my girlfriends 99 GT than I do under the hood of my car.

Yup the Number 1 killer of those motors is bad gas or a bad tune. Yes they will handle a **** load of horsepower but you need a perfect tune and great gas, or your lookin at atleast 5k for a rebuild, that is if you rebuild it stock. One of my buddies lost his due to detonation...

Low milage garage queen 03 Cobra. Add a K+N and you are at 400rwhp and low 12's with a totally docile daily driver.

I run 93 octane...at any pump I can find. Keep the timing and A/F reasonable
and everything is fine. A "perfect tune" or "great gas" isn't needed.

If you want a reliable street car then get the cobra..I used to have one and they are awesomeee...Damn i miss that carr....Just throw the basic bolt ons ( intake,mid-pipe,catback,pulley,tune) and you'll be anywhere between 450-480rwhp...

I haven't posted on this board in forever and I know the thred is uber old, but... I just sold my 2004 Cobra. Before that, I owned a '99 SS. The SS was a really nice car but performance wise, the Cobra was much more fun. I think it's all about preference. They are both equally nice cars and unless you are strictly GM or strictly Ford, its a tough decision. I will be buying another SS in the near future if that tells you which one I liked better.

With a cold air intake and a cat-back you will be over the 400rwhp mark in an 03/04 cobra. I would get the cobra.
