Hello, I have a 99 WS6 Trans Am I’m looking to get a build number for. The GM build date is 06/99 and the VIN is 2G2FV22G6X2234903. I’ve owned 0172 (1997 WS6 Formula) and 3029 (2000 Camaro SS) in the past, so I know this is difficult to figure out. Thank you.

Hi Dan, welcome to LS1Tech.
Unfortunately, the only data I have at my fingertips is for the '98s, and even then, only the WS6s that were NOT red or black. Fortunately, once you get your post count up so that you can IM me here, I'll reply w/ an email contact of someone who very well may be helpful. He's retired from ASC which performed the WS6 conversions for the '98-'02 Firebirds and he has access to a lot of this information and has been active fairly recently providing ASC#s to other members.
I noted that your '97 WS6 is not in the registry that I maintain here. If you want to provide the color of your car, its transmission and body style (HT/TT/'vert) I'll be glad to add you (there are scant few '97s in this registry). Thanks.

Nice, and rare color (1 of 34 '98 SGM WS6 T/A Coupes w/ A4). Your car's ASC# is 501 and was converted on 3/28/98. This appears to be the 14th SGM WS6 converted in '98. I'll add you to the WS6 registry on the next update.
Going forward I am taking over giving out ASC details from Marcus. He was a trooper that did this much longer than most. He was gracious enough to send me the data. Many thanks.

THANKS so much 98_1LE for taking over this task. And big thanks to Marcus for carrying this torch for so many years. Personally, I'm pleased to see that there is still some residual interest in this kind of information on cars that have been out of production for 23 years. Entire message boards that I used to be an active member on since then for cars I've purchased and sold in the meantime have waned and disappeared due to lost interest over time. These 4th-gen F-bods and especially the LS1 SSs & WS6s have retained a solid fan base. Lets keep this going!
