Exactly NONE of the after-market lids even come close to the Blackwing !

I first bought the after-market SLP lid and had all the leaks-rubbing-and warping, I could stand

Oh-hell yes

I've learned many things if life

Here's one,

You're either going to get screwed on price or product/service.

The choice is yours. And remember, you get what you pay for !

I personally, would much rather pay too much for something, than buy an inferior product/service.

And when the time comes,

I will have people standing in line to buy the Blackwing.

NOBODY is going to buy a used after-market lid for anything close to what it cost new.

I guaranty I could sell my Blackwing in short order for much more than I paid for it.

It's probably not. But if you want the llid that came with SLP engineered cars, get it. You would prob. be better off with a FTRA and a Shaner TB. Thats coming fron an 02 Firehawk owner by the way! Some people....

It boils down to different strokes for different folks. I wouldn't mind having one, but I certainly will not line up for one when the time comes. If I had a Hawk or SS that had one and sold it or whatever I would probably pay premium to get it back to have all the OEM stuff, if it didn't come on the car from the factory, zero point IMHO. Its not going to raise any kind of value if it is an OEM piece that didn't come on the car that way, it will just make the buyer think 'cool'.

I'm happy with my CF coated aftermarket lid, but I can certainly understand why some people would want this lid more than others.

The difference is, it looks like it belongs there and you
didn't just hang something on.

I tested the Blackwing filter against various others, it
was a hair better, but little enough that I have it in a
box with other stock stuff and run the Purolator that
came in second (better than FRAM and well better than
GM regular stock).

If it wasn't a credible factory option then it has no
particular value relative to any other well made lid.
Not all lids are well made of course.

I'm keeping mine.
