Did SS raise level of pride?

Did SS/WS6/Firehawk raise level of pride? Ok i started with a Z-28, it was a thrasher. I used to beat the crap out of it, and not really care all that much about looks as long as it was clean.
Now that i have the SS I find myself lookinf for random SS memorabilia. Head plate, dash plate, rear mat, etc. I make sure it is Always emaculate on the inside. Little i can do about the outside, it's black. I've even looked into joining the SSOA.
My level of Pride for owning a Camaro seems to have gone up. All this and all that i changed was the hood and wing

ill tell you what, i have more pride in my hawk than about anything else. i like the fact that i have a 93 hawk with 9k miles. im sure i would love the **** out of a 93 firebird with 9k miles and in the same condition and would have a **** load of pride in it too. the fact that its a hawk is the icing on the cake.
it doesnt have to be a limited edition vehicle to have the same amount of pride we have in our vehicles, but like i said, its the icing on the cake.

I did feel better knowing I had something "rare" when I used to have the Firehawk...

i was talkiung to some kids today im my class after i did a presentation on street racing and they were like what do you drive i was like a camaro and they were like oh got anything done to it? and i was like yea its a full bolt on 02 Ss and they were like **** I WISH I HAD AN SS!!!

purely objectively, I dont know if that is true. I know that WS6's are more rare than SS's, but when talking to the avg. person, I think that SS has more of a stigma that WS6. Not that they both dont get reaction, but I would think people just know more about the SS name plate.
yeah.....and Willie Nelson really has alot of appeal these days. how many movies have been made centered around a camaro? cough......Smokey and the Bandit.....cough.....
the only reason people know SS over WS6 is because SS is a trim level/performance option on an entire fleet of cars. has been since day one. dont forget, SS was around long before there was a Camaro. SS is just a NAME, an option level. WS6 is an actual RPO code. it just happens to sound nice.......like Z28, ZL1, etc. maybe if there were such things as WS6 grand prix, WS6 solstice, WS6 grand am, then people would be more aware of it. think about the. SS is the same thing as GXP is now......the top of the line in options and performance. but.......Pontiac men never had to brag about anything. we let the street and track provide our proof.

me personally wouldnt treat a SS any different than my Z...id try to keep it clean and spend just as much money either way (except for the car price)... and id still beat the crap outta it...i dont get cars to be a garage queen, if i buy a sports car, it will get its fair share of romping on
if they dont know i explain it to them, but i hate ignorant people. i was asked to drive the hawk in a parade not this past summer, but the summer before. i was a few cars behind a clean lt1 vette and i hear some hillbilly say "that vette would smoke your little pos firebird"....im thinkin wtf man id love to get out and beat your *** but 1-was that really necessary? and 2-are you so sure about that? 3-i dont even know, i hate stupid ignorant people and i have talked to the owner of the vette, its just got some appearance mods, everything else is stock
