I say it's been wrecked (before) . . .

The red I'm seeing is rust from where the metal is damaged on the quarter. I see some red on the door but it looks like it's from whatever did the damage.

The bumper is indeed a firebird bumper. The interior is definitely water damaged. Either it was left out in the rain with the tops off or it was submerged in water. The car is a legit 10th Hawk though and the vehicle history report comes back clean. It looks like it's a 3 owner car if this guy isn't the 2nd owner. Original owner sold it in 2002 with 10k miles on it and then the 2nd owner bought it and last registered it in 6/2006. Too bad it ended up like this. They paid A LOT for this car when they bought it in 2002. If it was for a kid then the parents need to have their asses kicked.

Sad to see such a rare car like this. I'd buy it if I could though. 1 of 139 makes it worth saving.

2002 was when the car was purchased by the 2nd owner. DMV reports go all the way to 6/2006. The car also had an extended warranty on it through 70k miles. The car has had warranty work done to it also so it makes me think they didn't completely negelect the car. A theft seems more likely now but that should show up on carfax/autocheck.

Hey guys,

I am the high bidder on the car - yeah I thought $8200 was pushing it - but I have wanted a 10th Anniversary Firehawk for quite awhile and figured this was a cheaper way to get one. I have major hookups on the bodywork and the interior is a piece of cake to replace (especially tan since everyone usually wants ebony). I full intend to restore the car to its original condition - only problem right now is that the title is not in the sellers name and I am not that comfortable with that. They had told me the car was vandalized and I can only assume that the car took on water due to windows or something being broken as a result. Just know - if I do end up buying it - I will definately be restoring the car - not parting it out.

Good for you! This car deserves to be saved. It's funny that becaue it's a 4th gen, people say part it out. If this was a 77-78 SE or 79 10th Trans Am then people would be begging to bring it back to life. If I had the funds, I'd have give you a run with the bidding because I love the 10th Hawks too. Good luck with it!!

Quater panel
Fender
Hood
Door
New paint job
New seats
New rear wheel
Matching body panels ( rear bumper dispute )

Thats all that seems messed up to me....i would pay 3K for it and have the above done. Sucks we dont know more about the motor condition.

Hey John,

You are correct - this is Chris.

According to current owner - it starts and drives fine. I am having some issues with the title not being in their name - so I might not be buying it after all.

Also, not that concerned about the collectability of the car - just like the way they look and having a unique car - regret selling my 30th back when I had it - have been looking for another limited F-body.

schaffer for president!!!

Hope the title issue works out.

If you get it the good thing is that it's a 10th that you can actually drive. Good luck getting new decklid decals to go with the other factory (SLP) parts of the stripe kit. That's the only 10th piece/part you can't get.

Search for David Hamburger, he's a sponsor on this board (SLP) and he the best person to contact for good info on it...

In the end it will be a very rewarding project. You've got one rare bird.
