SLP G8 Firehawk?
SS badge was whored out.
Kudos to SLP for offering a nice performance package for the G8.
I will voice my opinion regarding the name by not buying one.
I can't believe I didn't curse once that whole rant but OMG I wanted to.....

I bought my Firehawk because it wasn't a run of the mill T/A. Now they are putting it on a car that's not a Firebird. Now I understand how old school Pontiac guys felt when they released the new GTO's.
SLP did this to make money. It's a shame that they are basically kicking every Firehawk owner in the nuts.
I don't know what to say. I'd rant but it wouldn't do any good.
I bet they wouldn't put the Z06 or ZR1 badge on anything except a Vette. Those guys would have a fit! But they still make Vettes and cost more than any F Body ever did.
But there are definitely a good amount of posters in this thread that agree (that the name is being poorly used) and are non-Firehawk owners...
Lets review Chevrolet history. The "SS" was on other cars BEFORE the Camaro. Try the Impala, Chevelle, Nova, etc... The "SS" was never a Camaro-only trim level. It was NEVER a special name. In fact, the first generation Camaro SS was looked at as a LOWER level than the Z28. The 67-69 Z28s still are worth more and are more desirable than an SS of the same era.
The Firehawk was ONLY on the Firebird. The BEST factory Firebird, ever. It has never been a lame brand to slap on multiple models. It should not be compared to the "SS" at all.
