I just bolted it on bro. If you're really picky, which I see you're in car shows, you might want to sand down a few rough edges, but mine came out great after having it painted by a highly respectable shop nearby.

The purpose of this post is to help guys decide what sponsor to purchase a hood from.
I received my VFN 98-2002 Ram Air Bolt 4” Bolt on hood. It was not an easy install at all. It took 5 hours of sanding and cutting to get it to fit. The product quality was horrible compared other hoods I have seen. If you are supposed to do all of this before installing a VFN hood, then you guys need to know this.
The hood showed up with HUGE scratches all over in the black finish. Enough said there.
There was about 2” interference between the inside of the hood (cavity) and the airbox. We had to saw/sand out the cutout so it would allow the hood to go all the way down. I would guess it was “miss-trimmed” at VFN. No excuse for that.
The hood sat above the fenders on the side when down. The edges of the hood that run in and along the fenders needed about ½” sanded off. Another miss-trim.
The Ram Air nostrils had to be cut/sanded out but that was expected. No new screws so reuse you old ones.
The front edge of the hood is trimmed crooked. It rubs the front bumper cover top towards the passenger side. Will sand that tonight.
After some major adjustments we got it fitting pretty well except for a slight “lift” in the right front corner. The bumpstops were all the way down. Everyone thinks it looks cool but I will not recommend VFN to anyone nor advertise for them. Product quality control was horrible. Its a lot of work and not an easy bolt on.

Wow, sorry to hear that man. I can't speak for the WS6 hoods, but my 2" cowl was pretty nice. There were a few scratches in the black primer, but hey...? For the price I paid I'm very happy with my purchase. Now if only Bill from LS1source would come through with my tax refund I'd be all set.
Later.
Later.

SAM98WS6, do a search in appearance, I had the same complaints. That thread got locked in record time. I've already resolved to cut my losses on the hood. They wanted me to bring it back for fitment, I don't have time to play those games. I spent half a saturday getting the damned thing. I'll be damned if I'm going to give up another saturday for this bull. I had my hood checked by an extremely reputable body shop in the chicago area. They quoted me $600 to have this hood made presentable, then painted. Pics are located at www.shapor.com/pics/cars/nhra .
Still waiting for my refund from LS1SOURCE. I really don't appreciate being lied to. It's a shame that the admins refuse to help our situation any either. Those of us in Illinois were PROMISED no sales tax, we were charged. We were then PROMISED refunds, which were never issued.
This whole GP was a bust. I think the biggest slap in the face was when VFN posted that we should have contacted them, cause they would have sold them for less. I'm done with both of these companies. A real shame considering I just bought my first LS1, have another car that will get an LS1 transplant and needs a custom hood, and a race bike that I would like a full carbon fiber body for.

Sorry you had the same issues Bird. I dont play those games either. Cut my losses and move on. I would hope the admins wont lock these type of threads when we are just trying to help other members make the right choices. Had I read yours I may not have purchased from VFN.
This poor quality is getting out of hand. Wish there was something we could do about this bullshit other than cost them sales.

And when were these credits made? I returned stuff to Best Buy on 6/1 and my account was credited 6/1. No credit from LS1Source..... Don't bullshit and say it will be on the next statement to buy yourself another month.
