What time can I call????? I've tried to call a twice this week, both days at about 4:30 central time. I havent gotten through to anyone except one of those fake voice answering machines. It didnt say anything about UMI, it just said I reached that number 814-857-5400. Let me know so I can call my order in.

Okay, time to use the thread lock stuff! My short stick began feeling loose on the way to work this morning. After I arrived I popped off the boot and saw the bottom bolt was loose enough for me to turn with my fingers. The ride home should be interesting...

- Unscrew the leather gear shift ****. Mine broke loose without much effort.
- Pull up the leather shifter boot. Be careful, there are 2 tabs on each of the four sides on the thin plastic frame inside the boot and they break easily.
- Remove the two 13mm bolts on the right side of the shifter. An ordinary wrench works; the bolts are not super tight and there isn't enough room for a socket wrench anyway.
- Slide the Hurst stick up and out.
- Put the UMI short stick on the left side of the shifter and insert the two new bolts from the left side using the new lock washers. Make the new bolts finger tight. Others have recommended using one or two drops of thread lock or teflon "tape" to keep the bolts secure. I didn't use either and if the UMI loosens up then I'll use the thread lock stuff.
- Tighten the new bolts with a 6mm hex key.
- Pop the leather shifter boot back on.
- Screw the leather gear shift **** back on.
