Why Hasnt This Been Done
why doesnt a sponsor offer a raffle, say a dollar a ticket to anyone one this site. every one gets a number then put all the numbers in a hat draw one and how ever much money is raised that person can get that much stuff at their shop/site/ or whatever. i know that i would pay a dollar or even buy more than one ticket for a shop to take my car and and do what ever with it. there are 40k+ members on this board. i know not everybody would buy one but i know enough would as to where it would one heck of and overhaul. plus its a moving advertisement. just some food for thought. what do you guys think

everyone just paypal it and let it keep up with the names it holds for ever i guess. and if i was running a buisness and was going to get this money i would find a way. i mean i would pay 5 bucks a ticket if that many people didnt want part of it. be cool if a sponsor would at least think about it

Im in on this if a sponsor does decide to do it. Ill be in everytime if its done. Like Ryan said though, i think you will definately need a reputable company. Let me know if this happens.

It is a good idea....but as always there would be a few down falls. How many of the 40,000 members do you think would be in? I honestly think many less then what one would assume.
I would be afraid of being accused of the drawing being a scam etc.
I would like to try it small first, raffle off a less expensive item and see how it goes. If all goes good then it could lead to better dealings. Let me think on this for a little.

It might make more sense to not announce what the prize is until all the tickets have been sold. No sponsor will do it if they offer up $1,000 in suspension parts but then only sell $400 in tickets. But people probably won't want to bid unless they know what the prize is.
The sponsor could set up the prize in a tier system though. Sell $500 in tickets and you win this, sell $1000 in tickets you get two things, etc. Or just leave it completely up to the winner what they would want, I think tha makes more sense. If UMI does it, then whoever wins just gets $1000 to spend on their suspension components. I like it.
