Default SLP "ZL402" LS1 and LS2 short block assemblies on sale!

We have a sale that covers all of the SLP ZL402 short blocks. High and low compression versions are available for the LS1 and LS2 assemblies -

The ZL402 LS1 based iron stroker short block is loaded with the kind of top-quality hardware found in short blocks costing much more. It was the first choice for the experts at Car Craft magazine, who took an off-the-shelf ZL402 stroker motor and produced over 575 horsepower, naturally aspirated.

Our ZL402 is built around a new GM LQ9 Gen III 6.0 liter block, a 4.00" forged steel crank, and 4.00" forged aluminum pistons.

This package is sold only in short-block form, minus manifolds, camshaft, oil pump, and other equipment. The advantage of this approach is it allows you to pick a combination best for you.

Although designed primarily for use in late-model F-Bodies and Corvettes, the ZL402 also makes a great choice for street rods, muscle cars, and trucks. Best of all, it's sold outright, eliminating the shipping hassles and expenses of core returns.

You won't find a higher-quality, better value LS1 stroker motor anywhere!

LS1 High Compression Features -

Built entirely from brand-new parts.
Sold outright, no cores required!
GM LQ9 iron 6.0 liter block (includes block plugs)
4.000" Eagle 4340 forged steel crankshaft, balanced to rotating assembly
4.000" Ross 2618 forged alloy pistons with -6.00cc dish (includes new rings and full-float pins)
402-CID displacement
Eagle 6.125" H-beam rods
Includes new, factory-installed cam bearings; Clevite rod and main bearings
11.3:1 compression ratio (nominal; ultimate compression ratio will depend upon heads and gaskets used)
Designed for naturally aspirated applications
Capable of supporting up to 600hp
Meticulously assembled to OEM tolerances and specifications.
Oil pump, timing chain, camshaft, pans, plates, and covers not included.
ZL402 OEM-quality fender badges (pair).

LS1 Low Compression Features -

Built entirely from brand-new parts.
Sold outright, no cores required!
GM LQ9 iron 6.0 liter block (includes block plugs)
4.000" Eagle 4340 forged steel crankshaft, balanced to rotating assembly
4.000" Ross 2618 forged alloy pistons with -28.50cc dish (includes new rings and full-float pins)
402-CID displacement
Eagle 6.125" H-beam rods
Includes new, factory-installed cam bearings; Clevite rod and main bearings
9:1 compression ratio (nominal; ultimate compression ratio will depend upon heads and gaskets used)
Designed for naturally aspirated applications
Capable of supporting up to 700hp
Meticulously assembled to OEM tolerances and specifications.
Oil pump, timing chain, camshaft, pans, plates, and covers not included.
ZL402 OEM-quality fender badges (pair).

NOTE: SLP STRONGLY recommends that final assembly and installation be performed by an experienced, professional mechanic. Assembly/installation instructions are neither included nor available with this part.

The regular price for each of the LS1 short block assemblies is $3549.99. We are able to offer each of them for only $3299.99 through July 31st!

12400 Crate-Engine Assembly, ZL402" LS1 Short Block (High Compression)

12401 Crate-Engine Assembly, "ZL402" LS1 Short Block (Low Compression)

The ZL402 LS2-based aluminum short block builds on the success of SLP's original ZL402 iron short block. This new package uses the same race- proven internals as its iron block predecessor but features the all- new LS2 block for weight savings of over 100 pounds compared to an LQ4/LQ9-based engine.

Although designed primarily for use in late-model F-Bodies and Corvettes, the aluminum ZL402 also makes a great choice for most late-model GTOs, street rods, muscle cars, and trucks. Best of all, it's sold outright, without core charges.

They are balanced. It would be best if you e-mail us your address so we can work on a shipping quote for you. Alot of the quotes that I've seen have been in the $250. - $350. range.

Hey Tom,

It says the low compression 6L's are designed for NA applications. Does that mean the pistons won't hold up to a super charger? I want a 6L iron block with a 9:1 CR to strap a procharger onto. So will this work for me or not?

I had to look at that for awhile to figure out what you were talking about The low compression motors are designed for forced induction. Our info came from SLP. Just checked their site and see that they need to do a little update.
