Hey Larry, I called Strange two or three days ago and they told me that it comes with the Tru Trak standard. It might be worth a call to them to straighten things out just for everyone's general knowlege.

Evidently I got an idiot on the phone or you got one sending you e-mails. Either way, someone has been talking to an idiot. LoL

Ok guys this Martin over @ Strange and I'll do my best to answere all questons posted on this thread.

1- Weight difference between Dana 60 and 12 bolt is 20-25 lbs, the Dana is more heavy, Dana fully assmebled with posi weights around 215 lbs and 12 bolt is around 189 lbs (weight with brakes)
The weight difference between 12 bolt and 9" is about 12-15 lbs the 12 bolt being lighter.

2- True-Track is standard along with Power-Lock wich are good for 600 RWHP

3- The Posi in the Dana's are alot stronger than a 12 bolt and the 9" reason beaing Dana Posi's are 35 spline, 12 bolt is 33 spline and even weaker 31 spline in the 9".

4- Ring gear sizes:
*12 bolts ring gear only 8.875 OD
* 9 ring gear is is 9" OD
* Dana has ring gear of 9.75 OD which is alot stornger than 12 bolt & 9".
Standard Dana GEAR NOT PRO can withstand close to 1200 RWHP.

5- Housings are ALL new using our Dana casting that has the torque provision we weld 3" OD tude with 1/4" thick walls for extra durability.

I hope this helps you guys out its a great rear end and very strong @ the same time not too pricey.
I will do my best to post some pics of the rear end.

BTW SPEED INC. IS GREAT

Awesome info right there. Thanks for sharing. I have a question though. Excuse the ignorance but I have never heard of a Power-Lock rear.

Also, when you say that the standard Dana gear will hold 1200 but the Tru-Trak is basically only good up to 600 hp even with the 9.75" gear...

Basically I'm asking what I can order in this rear end that will hold 800 HP, not scream like a wild ***** after I launch on it with some 5000rpm clutch drops and not worry about it...I don't want a locker or a spool.

What will the standard Posi handle in one of these?

Standard gear set with spool will withsand alot of power close to 1200 but if your car is over the 600 Hp mark your NEED to be in a locker which are not bad at all very quite just like a posi unit they are not like the old deisgn which were VERY noisy and clickey on the road these ones are just like a posi but hell of alot stronger.
When we say 1200 hp on the gear set that does not mean your posi will take that kind of a power most of the time posi gives up way before you start breaking ring gears.
Ring gear does not increase strength of the posi you just have figure out how you want to use the car a 800hp car that does not race is fine with tru-track to power lock but a 600 hp car that races on a 28 tall tire that want to leave on T/brake I would put him in a spool or locker.

I've got a m6 that will have 3:73's running on a 27" slick and will be recieving 4-5k clutch drops off the line. I'm shooting for 500-550 out of my 408 I just ordered and will be spraying about a 150-200 wet shot on top of that.

It will go to the track probably 1 time each month. The rest of the time will be on the street...which will be about 2-3 times a week but that really doesn't matter because no one around here in their 800hp supra wants to go from a dig.

When you say the locker is almost exactly like a posi, what is the difference? I thought they were dangerous in the rain, around turns and were a parking lot chirping annoying piece of ****...but handled an *** load of power/abuse.

You call it.

So Martin, you're saying that the S60 is about 10lbs heavier than a 9"? Also I thought guys were running the true trac in 900hp cars drag racing. Haven't heard of anyone breaking one. I have a 725rwhp car soon to be 900rwhp and will be doing autoX so can't do a spool or locker. At the same time I want to do it right the first time and be able to hit the strip without fear of my new rear breaking. Will the True trac really not handle that power? What's my best option(handling wise)?

You can still run ABS & TRACTION CONTROL with lockers with out a problem which makes it very streetable.
If you plane to go 1.4' or quicker locker or spool is your best bet.
if you want to road race the car on 700-900 hp on tru-track is fine reason beaing the posi will not see a 1.3 or 1.4 60' times.

Lockers are not what they use to be they are not noisy you can find out more about them from Reider racing.

i think it would be nice for someone to step up as billingsley has an offer the backing plates and reluctor rings already installed. obvioulsy at a higher price. not all of us have access to a machine shop to have the axles pressed and we cant all afford the dowwntime if they were to be sent to strange. id like to see a price on a plug and play unit.
