what would be the GP price? (when and if you do one again) pm me. I know what they cost on the website, I build and price them out all the time from you guys online.
I'd like a detroit locker and 370 or 390 gears, I want the abs as well. Pm me with a price when you get a chance please. Not ready to purchase yet anyway.

OK, here's a question I don't think was posted: How much does the S60 rear weigh over the stock rear?

This thing looks good, I'm thinking about it.......

From the sponsors website:

25lbs heavier than a 12 bolt, 10lbs heavier than a 9"

No clue how much those weigh over a stock 10 bolt but if memory serves, the 10 bolt is the lightest of the 3. I know it didn't directly answer your question but I haven't a clue how much those POS 10 bolts weigh. Sorry.

Boy, that is a lot of weight to be adding to the car. This is not a "power producing" item that would compensate for its heft. Also, it’s a BIG unit, costly and worse of all, it’s a MOPAR thing.

Considering this, the nine inch is looking better. Cons? No readily available three channel ABS, it’s only 90% efficient and it’s a Ford!

Considering this, the 12 bolt is looking better. Cons? None really, easily available with 3 channel ABS, it’s 93 % efficient, the lightest weight of the three bolt-on upgrade performance rears and it’s a GM! Also, it’s less costly and can easily be built to handle plenty of horsepower.

Make mine a Moser 12 bolt.

12 bolt is not gm product, its a moser product, no differnet than the dana 60 being a Strange product. Dana posi's and ring gears are stronger than the 12 bolts, and 35 splines are standard, not extra $$...i thought i read somewhere the DanaS60's are more efficient and suck up less HP. its a Strange product with Ford/Mopar specs, of course if you're that brand biased there is no hope. if 20-25lbs is that big of an issue, go on a diet and lose the 20lbs you're bitching about, or get a lightwieght battery, or remove your interior, etc...

12 bolts are great.....except that they are not nearly as strong/sturdy with a manual tranny as they are with an auto.......most guys I know with a 6-spd and a 12 bolt have had serious work done on them to fix them, even when fairly new.

12 bolt is not gm product
I know of plenty of GM cars that came with the 12 bolt rear, it never came in a Ford or Mopar. I still get razzed by the boys about having a Ford rear in my Monty.

i thought i read somewhere the DanaS60's are more efficient and suck up less HP
Well great, post the facts here so we can see it. Compare to stock, the nine inch and the 12 bolt.

Yes, the Dana is a great rear, I never said it wasn't. I just won't need a rear good for 1,200 HP.

I'm not about to gut my daily driver but given the choice, I'll go with the lighter rear that'll handle the power I'm producing. Why add that kind of weight to the car needlessly?

I'm running a A4 car, not a stick. My buddies '66 Impala gets the front end off the ground with a pretty stock 3.73 12 bolt, he ain't broke it yet.

Brand biased?? I'm a CHEVY guy driving a PONTIAC.

Stock 1966 12 bolt or one of the current 12 bolts available from moser or similar? IMHO huge diff between the 2.....today's 12 bolts don't seem to be as strong as those from the good ole days. And since you have an auto.....you should be good to go. I have nothing against a 12 bolt, but when/if I ever get around to replacing my POS 10 bolt, it will be with a Dana 60 unless they invent something better.

i do too, trucks as well, but just becuase its called a 12 bolt doesnt mean they are the same. these 12 bolts are made by moser/strange, NOT GM like 40 years ago. getting razzed bvy your boys obvioulsy hits close to home with you, it explains a lot...

dont gut your car then, but if you insist on being so **** about it in a STREET CAR, dont bring it up if you arent willing to sacrifice somewhere else, battery, diet, etc...
