Default 12 disc changer

I know some of us have Ipods now and dont need the 12 disc cd changer. Just wondering if anyone else removed it. Took it out and left the wire there.

You can remove the changer and leave the wiring. Monsoon equipped cars that didn't have a changer still came from the factory with the wiring harness in place. There is no need to remove the harness unless you are obsessed with removing extra wiring or feel that the extra 12 ounces of wire will slow you down.

its not really all that hard if u wanna remove the harness and wiring.fairly easy. just remove the drivers seat, left rear passenger bucket and the upper rear seat back. remove the kick panel, sail panel (pull clothes hanger and velcro behind) and remove the hatch speaker panel

peel the carpet back a lil and remove the cd changer wiring frm the bundle of wires running to the front of the car

Would the CD changer`s power and ground wires be good for an aftermarket amp?

A small one... The circuit runs off the 25-amp RADIO ACCY fuse which also protects the Monsoon amp and the power antenna. A small amp of no more than a couple hundred watts would probably be okay but anything bigger should have better wiring.
