Default key fob range

Question:
I have two key fobs.. Both have almost no range to unlock/lock doors.. I've tried swapping batteries on them.. but have not much effect.. is there anyway to fix this?

I have the same problem. I can be standing at the end of my driveway, with my car at the other side of the driveway, and it won't get the signal. I think they just suck.

Find the antenna in the car and replace it with something better.

Aftermarket works too, but if range is all you want, then I'd say don't bother.

Nah I usually just leave mine in my pocket and just reach in and keep hitting the button till it unlocks.

I've tried that a few times. It has never helped me with anything, except looking like an idiot.

Try pinching the fob together, that always seems to give mine more range when I need it for some reason...

I've heard that you can solder just a wire to the antenna inside the fob and it gives it better range

Although that does work for some fobs, I haven't found the right spot in the f-body fob. Maybe Whitebird00 can chime in. Which item in the fob is the antenna? I can't seem to find it. The closest thing I can find is a trace running along the edge of the board, but I'm not sure about that. On some fobs its a small metal box. On some fobs its a thin bare wire. On the f-body fob...?????
