Here is what I found online:

Theftloc Bypass

1. Press and hold presets 2 & 3 for about 10 seconds until the first 3 digits of the display code are displayed
2. Write the numbers down.
3. Press the AM FM button, write down the next 3 numbers
4. Call 1-800-537-5140, when asked, enter 202107, press the “button” and enter the 6 digit code from the radio, you will get an unlock code, write it down.
5. Go back to the car, press the HR button and set the first 2 numbers, then press minute button and set the next two last numbers, press AM FM button, SEC should be displayed, turn on radio
To remove customers code, repeat step 5. you should see --- on radio face, the code is now out of the radio.

I haven't tried it, so I dont know if its accurate.

I need to do the same thing on my Chevy 99 S-10 pickup. I bought the truck used and had to replace the battery so the radio is now locked. I did the above steps to find the 6-digit code which is 702712 but when I called the phone number above it asked to press a # for which division, 1 being for Chevy, which I did and then nothing. In a bit it says time expired.

What did I do wrong when I called it in????

Hello! I did a search online to find out how to unlock my radio after my battery went dead and I came across your site. It worked except for a minor adjustment to the instructions.

Evidentally the dealer code you listed isn't a valid code anymore so I just tried another number and it worked.....use dealer code 202108 instead then press the # button and follow the rest of the instructions. JUST WANTED TO GIVE AN UPDATE FOR ANYONE ELSE LOOKING TO UNLOCK THEIR RADIO.

When I called the dealership to find out how to unlock the radio, they told me I'd have to bring the car in and have it put on a machine to get it unlocked...said it was the only way to do it....and they wanted to charge me $32 to do it! What a rip-off!!! $32 in their pocket for a toll free call that took two minutes! Creeps!!!!

Anyhow, THANKS BUNCHES FOR SAVING ME THAT BOGUSS FEE! YOU'RE AWESOME. Teresa

Really, i just went to the dealership and some lady pretty much did the directions that were posted and just let me go without having to pay anything. They did tell my brother that he would have to pay $40 when he called though, next time ask a girl their nicer.

About a year ago we needed to get a radio unlocked and our local dealer quoted $75 to unlock it. Luckily we found the old thread and got it taken care of.

After 20+ years, GM has disconnected the automated phone line and there is no replacement. Your best bet is to buy a used head unit in our for sale section, on craigslist, or on ebay. Better still... replace it with a good aftermarket head unit for a huge improvement in sound quality.

I have updated the Monsoon FAQ sticky with this information.
