Putting 8" Midbass in the doors with Monsoon?

Putting 8" Midbass in the doors with Monsoon?
Anyone done it? I know it wont fit without cutting but even if the diameter would work I think the side impact bar would get in the way so a shallow depth is essential.
Any suggestions? if 8" won't work in the doors I am thinking of doing dayton rs180 6.5" and some decent tweeters (relocating the tweeters to the a pillars) as I think these will have better midrange/midbass than infinity 62.7. and I can better position the tweeters. thoughts on this guys?
I'll be running the stock 01 camaro monsoon amp

no sure I want to put subs in the doors rather than something that can play midrange. Question: can I wire SVC 4 ohm subs in parallel to get a 2 ohm load to the monsoon amp in a camaro (mainly want to do it to increase the selections of sail panel replacements)? if possible are there any downsides?

I had those infinitys in my camaro, got them cuz they were 2 ohm so i thought they would work well... they arnt a bad set of speakers but do not get the power they need to really shine
if you want to redo a camaro get a good set of comps up front 2 or 3 way depending on how much you want to spend. then a set of those 8 inch kicker subs in the sails for midbass, and finally a 10 or 12 in the back for some low end
do that and give them some good power and you will not be disapointed

yeah, what I meant to say in the title of the thread was 8" in the sails not the doors. I did some measuring and it looks like 8" wont fit in the sails... anyone been able to make 8" work in the sails with/without modification?

The RS180 would be a good choice, but let me tell you from experience - they are too deep for our doors. Even with 3/4" MDF. Used with a tweeter that can dig down reasonably deep like the Seas Neo that I use, it would make a good 2-way system.
Not sure where any of you got the idea that he was talking about a subwoofer, because they are not even CLOSE to the same thing. A "midbass" driver can be thought of as half midrange, half woofer. Most decent 2-way systems will use a midbass and a tweeter. Some people still call them woofers and some still call them midranges, but midbass is a pretty accepted term these days, and either way, they are NOT subwoofers.

true but I looked at some others like the rainbow rs180 and they are 4 ohm with a much lower sensitivity and since I am using the stock monsoon amp for now the 2.7ohm and 94db sensitivity at 1W of the polk's looks to be the best bet for the stock amp... do you agree?

I don't agree that they're 94dB. That's BS. There's something in audio called Hoffman's Iron Law. With the surface area of a driver held constant, you have a compromise between:
-System efficiency (sensitivity)
-Output and bass capability
-Box size
You can't really dig deep and have a high efficiency is what it comes down to.
