Elemental Designs Blowout sale....!
Lol, possibly literally. I just replaced mine a month ago so I'm pretty pissed i had to pay full price, but I figured I'd pass this along.
from 85 to 40bucks each!!!
Time to do that sail panel subwoofer replacement, for dirt cheap.
(pontiacs need the 4ohm subs and chevy's the 2ohm)

By the way, I did the swap and It's amazing. I only used a 3/8" plywood spacer and didn't cut any holes...

Camaros have 2-ohm single voice coil subs so they have just one pair of wires that should produce a 2-ohm load for the amp. If you use 2-ohm DVC subs, you'll have to connect only one of the two voice coils - losing about half your power. You can't wire the two voice coils together in parallel because you end up with a 1-ohm load that the amp can't handle. And if you wire the two voice coils together in series you end up with a 4-ohm load which still cuts your power in half.
That's why you need the same 4-ohm DVC sub in a Camaro as in a Firebird. You wire the two voice coils together in parallel to create a 2-ohm load and then connect the resulting two wires to the factory pair of wires. In essence you are converting a 4-ohm DVC sub into a 2-ohm SVC sub.

Yes, your Firebird has 4-ohm dual voice coil subs from the factory so replacing with eD 4-ohm DVC subs is a simple matter of hooking up the four wires.
