Default where to mount a 5 channel amp

i just got my kicker 5 channel amp and im wondering where to mount it. i want it to be hidden but would still like to show it off every once in a while. so i thought about putting it on the front wall of the trunk but the t tops hit it. so im thinkin about mounting it to the panel that seperates the trunk from the car so if i want to show it off i just flip the cover over and you can see it. has anyone done this before, and it should be strong enough right. i was just thinking about getting some bolts to fit the mounting holes in the amp and drilling the panel and doing it that way. what do you guys think and if anyone has already done this can i see some pics of how its mounted.
thanks alot

Here's my amp rack:

The rear tint helps with hiding the amps from prying eyes. But you could easily fab a cover or overlay to make it totally stealth.

i just finished the wiring today ( just waiting for my 4 channel rca to come in) so i just need to mount it now. i was looking at the back panel that flips and i dont think i wanna do that now cause its not very strong and then my amp will be bouncing around. so i made a piece to fit on the back wall and then my t tops wouldnt fit. so i think im gonna make a setup like yours on top, but i still wanna make it look like theres nothing there. Is the part up against the seat angled or is it straight up and down? how are your amps keeping cool? and also can tell me the height of your amp box, i measured about 4 inches?
oh and where did you get your fabric from?
thanks alot i appreciate it

yea i was thinkin the same thing but then i still have to worry about the amp being mounted upside down. and after thinkin about it it will be hard to make it look really clean cause all the wires will have to have extra slack to flip over. its gonna be a little hard to hide 4 ga. power and ground, 3 rca cables, and 5 speaker wires. but i still think it would be pretty cool

The part against the rear seat is straight up and down. The ends of the back of the rack are open and vent towards the front (very little heat really). It's about 4 inches. I got the fabric from the shop that I had the rack installed. I gave them a mock up of what I wanted, and they built it.

i had my amp down on the floor where the t-tops mount and hated it there. i just had a great shop mount it inside where my spare tire was. looks great and is solid so it wont move under hard driving, and its HIDDEN.

If your amp isn't to big you can use the factory amp mount as a template to make a custom mount to mount your kicker amp in the factory amp location.

Looks pretty good. If you can wrap it in vinyl, it will show the lettering much easier. With carpeting, you'll need to glue (or what ever adhesive you use) very closely to the lettering so that it shows well.

If your going to use vinyl then glue some 1/8" thick closed cell foam to it first.
And plan on installing at least one fan, and two openings in the amp enclosure(1 close to the fan, and 1 on the other end of the enclosure).
As far as fans I'm still using the same Stinger fans I bought 8yrs ago.

what do you guys think, i like the way it came out but even the vinyl was a pain to wrap but the black actually matches the interior pretty good. and the best part the t tops still fit, and the amp box is kinda stealthy.

That came out looking good, but if you mount some metal mesh(black, red, silver, ...) behind the lettering it'll look great!
