I'm going with a 10" stealthbox/amp rack setup myself.
I was also looking at the 10" alpine type r 1043D, think it's what im going with, it should clear a stealth box? I'm currently lookin at the subthump stealth's, hope it'll handle this sub ok, or maybe kee audio.
and running it with a Alpine MRP-M500, 500 rms, wired parallel ( 2ohms ) as the amp makes 500 rms at 2-ohms, seems like a good setup.

Amazon has them for $114 + free shipping
I think this should pound pretty hard.

So you got yours wired @ 2-ohms? how's the lows?
And I expect to stay under my $500 budget for everything too which is impressive.
What stealthbox are you running? I just want one that fits good.
anyway, '02SOMz28, go with the alpine 1043d's, can't beat the price/performance as it seems.

Sweet, I figured others would have this setup, I like alpine.

This.
I have a Type R(DVC 4ohm), in a stealthbox from subthump, feeding it 480w rms off a Polk 1100.5... and everyone asks how many subs I have in my car; They're amazed its only 1. (I could add another, to drop the load to 1ohm, and get 300w RMS a piece [600w total rms on the subs])

As for the box, I have it stuffed in a Subthump stealth box.

I personally like the Eclipse 88102.dvc I run 3 of them and powered by a Phoenix Gold zpa 0.5...they slam super hard and are very acurate. The focal 165a1 is also a great choice...I also run three pairs of them attached to a fosgate power 50x2...vey clean and very loud.
