I'm going with a 10" stealthbox/amp rack setup myself.

I was also looking at the 10" alpine type r 1043D, think it's what im going with, it should clear a stealth box? I'm currently lookin at the subthump stealth's, hope it'll handle this sub ok, or maybe kee audio.

and running it with a Alpine MRP-M500, 500 rms, wired parallel ( 2ohms ) as the amp makes 500 rms at 2-ohms, seems like a good setup.

http://www.amazon.com/Alpine-SWR1043...7125435&sr=8-1

Amazon has them for $114 + free shipping

I think this should pound pretty hard.

This is the exact setup I have in my Camaro...I've been very pleased with its overall performance. Nice and loud when necessary, but sounds good.

Sweet, I figured others would have this setup, I like alpine.

So you got yours wired @ 2-ohms? how's the lows?

And I expect to stay under my $500 budget for everything too which is impressive.

What stealthbox are you running? I just want one that fits good.

anyway, '02SOMz28, go with the alpine 1043d's, can't beat the price/performance as it seems.

I was going to get the stealth box aswell but now leaning to the T-top box for two subs, but who knows stealth box still looks alot better.

I ran the stealth box as well with my Alpine. Sounded great, it was plenty loud but also had a very tight, crisp sound. Can't beat it in my opinion.

This.

I have a Type R(DVC 4ohm), in a stealthbox from subthump, feeding it 480w rms off a Polk 1100.5... and everyone asks how many subs I have in my car; They're amazed its only 1. (I could add another, to drop the load to 1ohm, and get 300w RMS a piece [600w total rms on the subs])

Yep...wired for 2-ohms, and it hits hard enough that it starts giving me a headache after about 5 minutes of listening to it loud. I was very pleased with the performance especially considering the price.

As for the box, I have it stuffed in a Subthump stealth box.

I have 2 different ones I switch between, an Orion HCCA 10.2 when I feel like shaking the earth, and a Diamond Audio D6 when I'm looking for a quality hit.

If you go with the stealth box, I would recommend a JL Audio W3v3. They are reasonably priced and If you power it, it will be more than enough to blow your ears out.

I can get you the MMATS 3.0 or the 2.5. CDT has the QES-1020 that are also very good but pricey although I can discount them a little. RE Audio SEx10 are good subs as well.
Boston G3 is also a good choice.

I personally like the Eclipse 88102.dvc I run 3 of them and powered by a Phoenix Gold zpa 0.5...they slam super hard and are very acurate. The focal 165a1 is also a great choice...I also run three pairs of them attached to a fosgate power 50x2...vey clean and very loud.
