Default For those with a Big 3 kit

What is the length of each cable? What is the gauge and which kit did you buy? And did you run each cable along with the factory cable, or did you just replace the cables? Thanks in advance.

I used 2 guage on all the larger cables, 8 guage for the smaller cables. Mine are all replaced, removed all the stk cables. I dont know the lengths off hand.

8 gauge for what smaller cables? You shouldn't be using 8 gauge for anything in the big 3. Stock is generally 6 gauge, and you shouldn't use smaller than 4 gauge if you're going to bother replacing it. If you do car audio, 2 gauge is the smallest and 0 is recommended.

I've been told to run the new cable along with the factory cable. Just removing and replacing the cable seems counterproductive and potentially risky if the new cables are undersized, poorly made, or both. Also, keeping the 6 gauge oem cables in place and adding the new cables along with them will allow using slightly cheaper 4 gauge cable. I'm not sure how to accurately calculate the total combined gauging, but around 2 gauge is probably close.

Anyway, if someone has lengths of each specific cable that comes with Big 3 kits, please post the info. Thanks....

You can do that if you want. Up to you. Why not just get like 15 feet of 4 gauge wire and some ring terminals and cut it as required? Crimp the terminals with a vice. Strip the wire with a knife.

That's exactly why I'm asking for the lengths......

Just get 15' or so. You should have a little extra after.

^^^^^
That's what I'll do, but I want the individual lengths of each cable to assemble before ever even climbing under the car or opening the hood. I'm a big fan of working smarter, not harder......or as other people call it, lazy.

I've thought of going this route as well. Wal-Mart sells various length 4 aWG cables assembled with connection rings. I bought two 24" 4AWG cables for only $4.44 each. Figure another $10-12 for a 55" 4AWG, and be done for roughly $20!

I'm definitely going to run the new cables along with the old just for the extra flow potential.

Thanks for the info, Capricio.

for the engine to chassis ground. you are going to need more than 24". i know that for a fact. you will need 30" to route the same way as the stock one.
