I'm looking for a sequential tail light kit for my 93 z28. Anyone know where I can buy one?

I have the webelectrics kit, changed the flasher to the el12 and they worked fine

Here is a quick vid, there are LEDs in the vid and they flash a bit faster but I changed back to regular bulbs and they look better. Also for the end bulb sockt since regular 3157 bulbs are too close to the lens and can melt over time, I went with a 7440 bulb, its shorter but still a dual filament bulb.

Nice. So the bulb you are talking about is the one farthest toward the outside of the lights (closest to the fenders)? The 7440 still works properly?

I also heard if you keep regular bulbs they get too hot and melt the tails... is that true? I would like to just avoid any extra bs and use the bulbs that are in the car now if it won't cause problems.

If I do get LED bulbs are they just plug and play?

^^ You don't want to do that... The Web Electric kit is great and required little work to put in. This is even more key for Firebirds, which have a special bulb arrangement.

That shouldn't be true on a Camaro. This is an issue on the Firebirds, which is one of the reasons Web Electric sells a special kit for them. (It comes with a different bulb.)

Oh I see. Nice I just ordered the WebElectric kit, I wasn't sure if they're universal kit would work but I guess it does!

So just to be clear, you're saying with the Webelectric kit I will need to change my flasher? Is there anything special I will need to do or just plug and play?

BTW - You can't use the Firebird kit with a Camaro because the rear bulbs are wired differently.

You don't have to get an electric flasher, but its just another $20 at your local parts store. (You'll need one for your turn signals and one for your flashers.) With the stock flashers, each side didn't flash at the same speed for me. One side was faster than the other due to the interaction between the old school technology flasher and new school sequential electronics. Switching to the electronic flasher took care of that issue. (Then, I went a step further by modifying the electronic flasher so I could adjust the flash speed.)

Wait a sec.. so should I get the universal 3 bulb setup or the 93-02 Firebird kit? The guy I'm talking to (Bfranker - he makes all the Fbody vinyls and he has a youtube video of his camaro with the sequential tails) says I should get the firebird kit.

I'm pretty sure you want the generic kit but don't take my word for it - because I have a Firebird. If I were you, I'd reach out to Web Electric and confirm with them before you go further. They were really helpful when I got my set.

My recollection is that the outside bulb is different between the two cars. On the Firebird, its only used for the marker light so the kit needs to tap in to that and use a different bulb to make it dual use. (Don't remember what the Camaro does stock.)

Yeah Bfranker is telling me to get the Firebird kit and change the outer bulb to a smaller one, then get 2 dual filament sockets and install them for the inner bulbs.

That's what I did at first, and he wasn't sure which one I should use for the Camaro. So I talked to Brent, who has his car done with the sequentials, and he also got in contact with Lawrence from Web and we figured it out.

I'm going to use the STS-3TA kit for the Firebirds, 2 dual filament sockets, and bulbs 2057 or 1157.

This holds true to camaros, when people use blackouts in the rear that can even melt the lens even with the stock 194 bulb (happened on my 01)

I'll bet blackouts are the issue, right? They don't reflect as much heat out of the lens?

I checked the schematic and the outside bulb is the same on the Camaros and Firebirds, so the same Web Electric kit should work. It looks like only one of the dual filament bulbs on the Camaro blinks with the stock flasher. If that's the case and the second socket has two wires hooked up, then the install should be a breeze.
