Default backup camera

I'm getting ready to purchase a Kenwood double din unit that is able to hookup a backup camera I figure while I'm installing it I like to see about a backup camera. Just wondering if any you guys installed one in an f body and what did you go with license plate type on the key hole one.

NEVER, but that may have something to do with the fact the guy I bought my car from only had the key FOB's and ignition keys. I really need to get some keys made incase I get a dead battery.

thanks for the PM. There is not much info on the keyhole cam installs. I found a licence plate cam BOYO VTL375HD seems to have good reviews.

I would do a license plate bracket like the above before removing the keyhole in the back..
My camaro electric trunk popper stopped working for about a week and I had to use the key-Would of sucked if there was no key hole lol.

Question, how did you route the wires from the license plate cam into the trunk area? Did you need to drill and where? Thanks! Looking to put mine in soon. Want a clean install

I have a reverse camera there too. If you follow the brake light wiring, you'll find the existing grommet that they use. I passed the backup camera wire through there. In my case, I needed to lengthen the wires. There is also a box inline that contains a regulator to drop the car's voltage down to what the camera needs. I wanted to keep that and the video connection inside the car so I extended the section between it and the camera.

Also, since my camera is rotate-able, I mounted it to the flat area above the license place (where the light is) and rotated the camera body so it still faces rear.

This isn't the exact one I bought, but it looks similar:
