Default Viable replacement for factory monsoon subwoofer?

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone could shed any light as to whether either one of these would be a possible option to replace my blown sail panel sub?

https://www.amazon.ca/Pyle-PLPW6D-6-...YRDTFSR87KKMVN

https://www.amazon.ca/Lanzar-MAXP64-...rb_top?ie=UTF8

Not sure about the connectors on them as apparently, after reading on here, I need to splice into them to get them to work. Any help appreciated as I'm a total newb in car audio (other than a hu swap). Do replacements have to be dual voice?

Or this? I do realize that these are all cheap, but I'm just looking for a quick simple replacement. I don't care to listen to music often in the Firehawk, but pains be to know a speaker is blown

As long as it physically fits and the impedence is correct, it should work. Higher impedence would decrease amp output and lower impedence could possibly damage the amplifier.

I believe 4ohm is what I need, and dvc correct?

Does the factory connector have 4 wires in it or 2? 4 wires would indicate DVC and 2 would be SVC.

I really don't know it just blew yesterday. I was just wondering what I needed because I read on here that just any old speakers wouldn't work, as the monsoon system is a unique one. I was hoping for a little more clarification on the type of sub that would work for my application before buying. I already emailed Keeaudio but have not heard back about my questions. I think I read that these are dual voice coils, I will know about the wires (2 or 4) once I get into it tomorrow hopefully.

Camaro or Firebird? I have a firebird with the monsoon system and the sail panel subs were DVC. I replaced them with Kee Audios CTD HD sub package. If it's a Camaro I believe it's SVC.

Yeah that's what I thought as well. It's for the bird.

There is a lot of information in the Monsoon FAQ sticky at the top of this section.

Don't buy Pyle... they're known as a "pyle" of crap. And the other two are single voice coil, meaning you give up half the available power if you use them (not to mention the quality of a $20 sub is very questionable).

Lol alright fair enough. Yes I have read the stickies white, just everything points to Kee...and living in Canada means I get burnt sometimes with broker fees etc. Just really want to swap this blown one out for something else. If Kee can help me out, great! I'm one of those guys that would rather not have a sound system than have a blown speaker. I really don't listen to much other than my car, but a blown sub is a blemish.

Skar audio makes a 6.5" sub that is 4 ohm dvc. You need to wire it in parallel to get a 2 ohm load. Also Bazooka makes a decent 6.5" 4ohm dvc sub...also needs wired in parallel for 2ohm. I just bought the CTD package because it saves a good chunk if you price it out sperately.

Might not be what you want but it is an alternative.

he has a FireHawk not a Camaro so he has 4 wires, one set for each voice coil so he wouldn't wire them the way you need to with the Camaro.

All Firebird Monsoon systems (not just Firehawk) have dual voice coil subs in the sail panels so they have two pairs of wires each to match the four terminals on DVC subs.
