Dynamat Xtreme, Second Skin Damplifier Pro, Kilmat 80 mil, and Noico 80 mil seem to be the top ones that I have found reviews on. Kilmat and Noico are about a third of the price of Dynamat and Second Skin though.

For something cheap, effective and easy to use duct insulation is the way to go. It's also not very heavy. I like the aluminum backed thin foam from frost king best. I get it from lowes/home depot or amazon.

If you prefer stuff like dynamat there is a thinner version of that stuff you can find at lowes or home depot. There is also what's called q pads from auto body stores.

I have a bunch of Noico 80 mil waiting to go in the car... will probably get some MLV to go over top of that as well

Seems like Noico 80 mil is the most cost effective alternative to Dynamat.

I used the stuff from Lowes called "Peel and Seal" and it is working very nicely at about 18 bucks a roll. People cautioned me against it because they said it would have a harsh tar smell on a hot day. Well, they were wrong then and wrong now. Before I installed it, I put a 1000 watt heat gun to it for nearly two minutes. No smell then and no smell now and it is sticking like glue.

For all of these, you do need a scrupulously clean floor for best adhesion and I clear coated mine to do it even better. I also used a very thick layer of "Lizard Skin" on top of my floor sheet metal and back wall under the clear coat. All in all, my EC is very quiet and I think I will use the Peel and Seal on my doors under my Legendary door panels - on back order until the third week of August!!!! ARRRGGGHHH!!!

I use frost king duct insulation, I think it does just as good of a job as the high dollar ****. My turbo car has a 4" down pipe dumped right under the passenger seat and I can talk to my passenger as if I was in your grandmas cadillac.

Do these come off with a heat gun? For example, I use Noico on my whole door to make it less "open air", and in a couple of years, I need a new window motor.

Sorry if these are stupid questions. I have never worked with sound deadening stuff before.

The frost king stuff is easily removed and it will adhere back.

With strong fingers and some difficulty, the Peel & Seal can be removed. No need for a heat gun to soften it but it will likely be a lot less usable after removing it.

What about passthrough holes in the floor? Is it obvious where they are after the mat is flattened out with the roller?

It was not hard to find the seat bracket holes, if that is what you are asking.

I used dynamat on the floor of my car.I will be doing the doors and roof this summer.I like the stuff. When I do the doors i'm not going to cover the holes in the inter skin,but i'll be putting some mat on the inside of the outer skin of the doors,i think that'll help alot.

If I am going to cover the whole speaker side of the doors. is it worth it to put deadener inside of tbe door? I.e.reacbing through the speaker opening and putting deadener on the backside of the outter door shell

thats what I did on mine.. you can easily hear the difference when you do the knock test on the outer door
