New box - check er out...
...Need to do some finishing touches, sanding the edge and putting beige carpet over it. Also going to channel the wires better, obviously . Had to retro fit as the edges were still touching the glass...nothing like a handy reciprocator saw... haha...the seat goes all the way back, and I mounted the box with two angle brackets. Holds fine.
Anyway, sounds awesome, and the hatch closes...im happy.
Dimensions are 19.75" x 16 x 11 (excluding the top baffle). Net cu ft is 1.38.
Sub is an alpine type x (SWX-1243D) powered by a Kenwood KAC-X811D, and the speakers by USAcoustics 4085. Sub is brand new...waiting for it to break in and see if the cone bumps any higher. My last sub was very close to the glass, but the alpine seems to have a smaller excursion.
Next up...big three...and then an alternator...car audio never ends...

lemme tell ya right now, good work on the box i guess....lol, but put that thing in the well and you will shocked at the sound difference. i know how it is with t-tops and whatnot, but i had 2 sealed 15's in the same spot, aimed towards the glass and when i took them out and put in a single ported 12 in the well, it sounded almost the same.
thats a terrible spot for a sub in these cars, unfortunately i know because i had 3 different setups in that spot in my last car (a single sealed 12, 2 sealed 12's, then 2 sealed 15s) and when i put the single ported 12 in the back it sounded almost as loud as the 2 15s. better quality too. the well is the absolute best place, so might wanna take that into consideration

thanks for the input. I certainly wasn't concerned about cosmetics for right now, just wanted to see how it sounds...making it look good won't take long. Im interested in moving it to the back, but the driver side well hardly provides any air space. The passenger side should suffice. 69z did you follow the pass side well box-build guide on here?

The box came out really good. I understand you are not done yet, but you can tell you knew what you were doing when you made that box good job. I would use vinyle for the box. i did and it looks great. I used black vinyl even though it differnt then the interior it seems to flow good.
