Gonna race him again in the daytime to get a better video, from a dig also. Just put my order in for a pro 5.0 so ill be powershifting this time, stock shifter sucks as you can tell from the sloppy shifts in the video, also anyone know of a good tuner in CT? wanna get dynoed and tuned.

This was my 16YOA son's first time at the track with the Z28, '94 M6, completely stock with the exception of a K&N CAI, street tires and 100+ degree Arizona night-time heat, versus an '08 Altima V6.

LT1 versus V6 Altima

Cell phone footage, so it's not the greatest.

I'm so glad you're in an import.

Motor trend pulled 102mph with an SER altima 6spd. They are NOT to be underestimated.

An LT1 with a hotcam lost to a pretty much stock altima?.....

Somehow, I doubt that thing has a hotcam in it....

Even without a lt4 knock module or even a tune.....an lt1 with a hotcam should have easily dispatched a pretty much stock altima.

That video doesn't say much. It should be alot closer. 08 Altima also has a cvt transmission I believe and it slowed the car down a couple of tenths plus there are no times just really bright lights. So if that is what .2 tenths and 2 or 3mph looks like in the quater than it's right. But really who gives two craps since most altimas have two car seats in the back and a stroller in the trunk. I guess the real run now would be the new honda accord which they got to trap at 102 ewww now theres a real run for you.
God I can't believe I am wasting my time posting on this, I think I am the dumb one.

Are you sure the cam is in the engine or in the trunk?? Powershift vs average driver can explain some of the vid, but with your setup, something is not right at all!!

The other vid make more sense to me...

like i said im hoping to get it tuned sometime soon, first race i ever had with the car so im still getting used to it, i was shifting around 5800 maybe winding it out to 6100 or so will show better results. the stock shifter is deff holding me back, first race i poweshifted into thrid and missed it bad, so i was taking my time tryin not to blow **** up. I have another buddy of mine with a turbo scion that runs over 10 psi he wants to race so ill have that video soon, his car beats that altima i raced by at least 3 or 4 so idk how thats gonna turn out.

You started in third??? Your car sounds like it was out of powerband. How fast were you going?? If it was 55 or below it needed to be in 2nd gear!

this guy is right, start in second and rev it up to at least 6200 because that cam doesnt make peak power like a stock cam, its power range is higher. Rev that thing!

Just put in my pro 5.0 shifter way better than stock, only thing i dont like is the extra noise but other than that its night and day. made a few pulls shifting at 6000+ and it does feel liek its still got power up that high so next race im goin that high.

Definitely rev to 6k, especially if it is cammed. Also make sure you are in the correct gear, from the video it sounds like you were in 4th gear, took FOREVER to get to the next gear even with stock gears. Did you have a car full of people or just you and the camera?

Considering you just got the car, i have to ask if you've done a tuneup on it? Most LT1's i've seen are beat to **** with no maintenance. Consider changing your plugs, fuel filter and trans, clutch, rear fluids if you haven't already, that could be causing your car to run worse.

When u say it has true duals, what kind of headers does it have, longtubes, mids, shorts? You really need to get it tuned though, it should run a lot better if none of these things are done.

None of this is meant to insult you, just trying to help you get your car running to full potential, as i did not know the car was cammed, that SE-R should have got pulled good.

havnt done a tune up yet but went out and bought some stuff today, oil , filters, pads , plugs. The exhaust was on the car when i bought it, hooker long tubes, magnaflow highflow cats, then 18 inch glasspacks, with no crossover.

When i do the exhaust over i wanna run the same headers and cats with a dr.gas X and either 2.5 inch magnaflow or dynomax bullets with a 6 inch case. Ive heard cars with 4 inch case muffler but there to raspy. I would spring for borla XR-1's but there to much.

Ill get another video soon, this was my first race, just wanted to get used to the car, not making excuses or anything but the car is deff fast. before this car i had a 88 gt 306, b cam, gt-40 heads typical mustang bolt ons and this car is deff faster i just need to get used to it.

You're right. Everyone should HAVE to like imports, after all, thats only fair to everyone who drives an import. Wouldn't want to hurt any riceboy's precious feelings, thats not nice.

Get a life, not everyone shares the same opinions, especially not on a Domestic forum.

"VERY strong"?? Its going to be just like the 350Z or G35, the VQ engine doesn't respond "very strongly" to mods at all. With an intake, tune, and exhaust you might gain a couple tenths in the 1/4 AT BEST, nothing I would consider to be "very strong"
