Default Pointless Race

So I am out cruising last night with my girl, just chillin, talkin, havin a good time, when this guy in a almost brand new chevy silverado with the 5.3L, I am guessing, with an exhaust and intake, not sure what else he had, I could hear those two though, pulls up next to me and starts revving. His buddy in the passenger seat is staring over at me with the biggest I suck dick for quarters look I have ever seen. The dude starts making his truck jump at me, i'm guessing he was getting ruffled cuz he couldn't get me to do anything. I just calmly roll down my window and tell him to stick next to me until the next stop light. Just so happened the next stop light was the last one going out of town. He and I stop together, he stalls his truck up, I just left it in OD and the light turns green and I didn't floor just gave it enough to get the *** end loose and as soon as I caught, I was gone. He dissapeared into my rearview in a hurry. I let off at about 90-100 and I was a football field in front of this guy. Maybe an exaggeration, but you get the point. I let out of it and eventually, after the guy has time to catch up, he comes flying by me. Now every time I see him, he is revving and acting stupid. Oh well, he and I both know what the outcome was, and if he wanted to do it for real, I would love to shut him up the hard way.

My friend was the same way when he first got his silverado, he thought he was unbeatable. Nice trucks but not in the same league as an F BODY

I was playing beer pong the other night and a guy with a 5.3 silverado with a "high performance chip" was asking me to race him, claiming it has over 330hp.

330 crank hp.. in an ECSB truck.. and your point is?

Something about these guys in their trucks with big engines, they always think it's fast or something.. In reality they are slow heavy tanks..

I had a newer Escalade try and race me a few months ago... It was a very clean and modified truck from the sound, maybe even supercharged...A couple of chollo's cruising it with the boom box going on, probably drug dealers from the look..... It got smoked never the less, but for a big *** truck it did move some...

I think some of these truck owners really need to get a sportcar if they want to race fast sportscars because there really is no point...

The Ford Lightning was a fast truck but that really isn't a truck. The Jeep Cherokee with the Hemi can move but that is an SUV... The Newest Blazer maybe quick (I don't know) with LS motor but that is an SUV also.....The newest Tundra truck is quick but not really that fast...I just can't think of any really fast trucks in close to stock form.... The Dodge ram V10 dually is a torque monster but is also as slow as crap... Hmmm?

Trucks are usually very heavy and geared mainly for torque...

Ford Lightning looks, sounds, and smells like a truck.. not sure how it isn't?

The SRT8 Ram and SRT8 Grand Cherokee would probably have their way with your car, as well as a lot of cars. They are some quick boats. Trailblazers are pretty slow out of the box, but with some mods they can move (like anything LS powered)

Look up an SRT8 Jeep, those are the most impressive "stock" trucks out there IMO.

Yeah them srt8 jeeps are pretty impressive, especially when you go forced induction. I have seen a few of them running mid 12's on youtube. My girl wants one, says she wants to outrun my car with it. Give me enough hp and I can make the statue of liberty fly.

There is a guy here with a twin turbo diesel with some big *** smoke stacks on it making close to 600hp and over 800-900 lb ft of tq. That thing is supposed to be wicked. I have a buddy here with an 07 silverado with the 4.8 in it he has a k&n cai, flowmaster muffler and a hand held tune, and he likes to brag that he has more hp than me and that he could keep up with me from a roll. I just smile and nod my head, he and I have been close for a long time and I just don't have the heart to show him that he is wrong. Unless of course he asked me to, then I would be more than happy to.

AWD Turbo 4.3 V6.

And it's usually the Diesels you'll have to fear. There's an F250 a friend of a Friend owns with a tune, 4" exhaust, intake, and a couple other things puts down ~600HP and 1012TQ set on kill. there's a 65 foot patch in the parking lot of my buddies shop where the guy rested his foot on the brake and let it go.

Hey I'm new here but I thought I'd mention a buddies Duramax with a chip and a 6 gun programmer piggybacked... Ive ridden along when he put 3 lengths on a 05 Vette and shut down... It will also throw a 13 inch flame out of the tail pipe if you dont mind watching the pyrometer peg out instantly!

I had one recently do a burnout next to me. When he was done, I looked over at him and then pointed to the cop that was sitting across the intersection from us.... I had a good laugh over that one.
