It can. Those things can be caused by other things too though.

Pop and cracking = **** tune! Either two rich...with the flames I would say it was.

I got one gauge in my car out side of factory.....it is a boost guage. Run Meth on stock turbo and full bolt ons. I do not get flames. Then again my **** is tuned by me and tuned right. 12.03 in the 1/4.......Sounds to you ran into a stupid *** kid that spent his mom and dads money, only to have a car he can't drive, tune, nor make fast. Why cause he is still an idiot kid. lol

Anyway....I have owned a few F-body cars, I like them, but they drive like a truck after wheeling an Evo around....Hell almost everything drives like **** now. Funny I bought the car to haul my kids around yet be fun. I really did not expect to enjoy a ricer as much as I do.

I keep debating selling it and getting another V8 car...03 Cobra or LSX powered something. I am not sure. **** 2k dollars gets me a turbo, injectors and I plan to tune for E85. Cars similar are seeing 10's!!!! I could be happy running tens in a 100% street car on reg wear 18" tires. FWIW I got my 60' down to 1.63. Little more power and I think I can get a 1.5x out of it. Which will be enough to run 10's if the power comes around like I am thinking.

Eh anyway nice kill.

What do you think of the new FP Red turbo?

That is what I am looking at. It is a very impressive turbo considering it is still a Evo 9 housing and mounts to the stock manifold and what not.

I have heard a couple guys making 500 at the wheels. Another more serious built Evo has been 9's on this turbo. Still street just has everything from motor to trans done as well DR all the way around...IIRC.

My local tuner, Bryan Medway at GST, has been playing around with a few reds. There's a local VIII with a red making 435whp peak and 380wtq (at 4.2K RPMs!) on 110. On 91 octane it's still making over 380whp/325wtq. That Mustang dyno is pretty stingy too as you might already be aware. They've had a few in the 29Xwhp range go into the 11's. Anyways that's the turbo I'll be getting next. It's stealth looking for smokie and the CA smog ***** and it's got excellent low end.

Here's the plot with the 110 and 91 overlays...

Ask GST about the white wing-less Evo without plates (Stevens Creek Mitsu ?) from the Fremont area I raced.....
