Default Jeep Grand Cherokee

I just ran with a early 2000s Jeep Grand Cherokee... That thing was a lot faster than I thought. The kid said the motor had 130k on it and still running strong so I assume it was the stock motor (he said it was a V8 but hard to hear anything else over the wind), maybe modded. Has anyone else ran into something similar and I dk anything about those jeeps but anyone think it could be that quick just as the original motor depending on the package? (In case it wasn't clear I still walked him good I was just curious about the motor)

maybe a shot of N20? some SUV's will surprise, my parents 2004 plastic Saturn Vue with the 3.5L ran a 14.9, with only intake and no rear seats.

Those Vues used Honda V6s... pretty damn quick.

It's either a 4.7 HO (2001-?) or a 5.9 limited (1998).
I know the 5.9 limited can be pretty built up, like in Rams, but it's not worth it.
I know procharger makes a kit for the 5.9 and you can find heads/cam packages online...

I'm sure they exist, but I've never seen or heard of a fast 5.9. I raced a 5.9 Dakota when I was full exhaust/lid and it felt like I was racing some old bitty in a power chair.

Ya 250HP Honda engine in a 3600LBS SUV lol ya my dad used to beat gtps and hang with stock 5.0s and those 98'ish mustangs. Now don't going thinking he was serious when modding it, he has a falcon drag car for that. He just loved beating young kids in a Vue with no badges and telling them its a stock 2.4L I4

My buddy has a H/C, stroked 5.9 limited grand cherokee, with a procharger...
It's pretty quick

I've got one as a daily, mostly stock, stuck in the 14's
I want to set mine up for some trails though

i saw a FAST grand cherokee 5.9 running high 6's at the local eighth mile track. it was sprayed and turboed or supercharged...

not too bad considering there was a guy at the track last night with a 427 (built motor) gto and a supercharger that ran 6.7

I think he would notice that, they look quite different. and he wouldn't of been able to walk it either, it would of been close.

the grand cherokee limited with the 5.9 is no slouch. The one I drove had the tow package which apparently equates to a low gear. It surprised me. I could see it running 14s.

Mine has the tow package, a tune, and a CAI.
I ran even with my friends cadillac STS from a dig, so I think I'd get mid 14's... I wouldn't bother though.

That's not too bad I guess, but I was running 10.0s in my stock crew-cab '05 Frontier V6/6spd my first (and only) time I took it to the track. And an open-differential pickup truck with a manual transmission is not that easy to launch. On a similar note the 2nd race I ever had in a car back when I was sixteen was in my '94 Integra GS-R vs. my buddy in his 5.9R/T Dakota; I was a barely-mediocre driver at best, and I still pulled a couple cars on him from 20-90mph.

I recently bought a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee AWD with the 5.2l (318) with 95000 Miles. And it really does run awesome. I Killed a 05 up V6 Mustang with it. I still have never had it to the track just to see how it does but im sure that if i would take the back seats out and do some exhaust upgrades it would be impressive. Just thought i would put my 2 cents in.
