I don't see where all the hate comes from towards the GT 500 when so many people praise the 03/04 Cobras. The GT500 weighs maybe 2-300 lbs more than the cobra, but makes up for it with more power. You're still getting a bullet proof motor but with more displacement, I don't see the problem here, maybe I'm missing something? The price tag is a little higher on the GT500 than the Terminators but not by much. The mod potential is about the same as the terminators also I would think. Who cares how much the car weighs when you can make up for it with more power, it wasn't made for excellent handling, it was made to go fast in a straight line which it does very well (maybe not so much in stock form, but who keeps their car stock anyways?).

As far as suspension goes, if you want to hang with Vettes give Griggs, MM, or Kenny Brown a call.
I think they do pretty well in the corners stock. They suck in a straight line. You can't make them damn things hook for ****. But yea when you get some good suspension pieces they can and will do both very well. Weight loss would help them even more. The engine is really nice it pulls hard when it finally gets hooked up. Tons of potential in those things but the initial cost kind of turns people off. Myself included.

um i sure have now i guess Mr. Stopsign32v is gonna blame it on the factory tires but when i drove it i took a corner at a pretty quick speed to see what it can do and it almost went off road and then when i got it under control i had to correct it from an over steer and i mean i'm no jeff gorden but i know how to drive

Sure you can. Give me one and 5 minutes and I can have it lifting the front tires or break something trying, one of the two.

All these driving skills above and you managed to run 12.86? Come on now, whats the truth? Also can you give a break down of your slip, your mods, and maybe some pics?

Can't help you with that. I just know what I did with the car. Maybe I'm a better driver maybe not but they damn sure handle better in corners than they do in a straight line trying to squeeze out the max on the stock tires.

I'm telling you! If the 5.0 does not run low low low 11's or high 10's @ 120+mph n/a I'm chunking that pos for a 351 or a Dart block 302 with my turbo.

I think you'll get there. Of course knowing the cam specs would help me give you an honest opnion. If you go 351 you might as well get nasty and do a stroker.
