Default Ate a Roush for dinner last night

Not sure if it was a Stage 2 or 3, but I was on the way to Greensboro last night on I85, there was some middle aged dude driving it, he seemed reluctant at first to go, but after me pulling on him a cpl times, he hit the throttle, we prob went from a 70 roll, and shut down around 120, i had about 3 car lenghts on him still pullin way easy, Im about positive it wasn't a Stage 3 unless his old *** couldn't work a gear box..it was fun anyways, Im just happy that my last 2 races haven't been with ricers, Im gettin lucky out here..

Roush's are pieces of **** blk~2000~Z28 as are the majority of Saleens. Still, nice kill Hoss. Gotta teach that old man a lesson he'll never forget. I say you drop $500 on a used wet kit and run mid 11's all day long like I did in my Z28.

I plan on doing that when the money starts to flow a little better again, how much were you running, 125, 150? Is that about as high as a stock motor could take, Im not really up to speed on the N2O systems.

I just sprayed at the track for the first time Wednesday night. My NX kit with 100 shot jets took off .91 sec. and added 11 MPH in the quarter (versus an NA run conducted right before). Just some input for you.

Many will say "run a 150 shot, it's OK", but it's not their motor. Not an expert on N2O, but that's why I prefer to play it safe.

I was reffering to either of these two verions. I did not know Roush made a N/A version. Mustang 380r or The Stage 3 Sport package includes a Roush 4.6L SOHC Supercharged Powertrain

This is the one I was referring to. I read an article about it being in a recent movie(harrison Ford, Hartnet) I was thinking the 285hp saleen would not stand up to Roush's S/C version, obvisouly it wouldn't because it is not the super charged version of the Saleen. My bad

Just a quick question, but why the hell did Roush and Saleen use an SOHC Mustang motor for their guinnea pigs? Wouldn't you want the 4V DOHC to strap a blower on? I don't really get that...

Ding, ding, ding!!!! Show the man what's he's won Bob!

That is exactly why Saleen and Roush Mustangs are ****. They use POS 2V GT motors and supercharge them. They have no real potential.

SuperMario- You'd **** your pants if you saw this Saleen 'vert my buddy at www.livernoismotorsports.com just built. It's a Livernois built motor running 26psi of boost on a 67mm TURBO. It makes 673rwhp with a conservative tune.

Holy hell that is a nice saleen, and yes the 2v never had potential, just like, "you never had me,. . YOU NEVER HAD YOUR CAR" pure comedy right there!!

Here's a 2V GT. BIG money spent on it though...

the saleen s281-e is pretty badass. '02 model is 425hp, and i BELIEVE that the 03/04 model is significantly higher. i left the stupid magazine with the specs in it at work, so i can't say for sure how much.

it is also unbelievably expensive. $65k for a tricked out model. if i had $65k to spend on a car, i wouldn't get an s281-e. i'd probably get a z06. if, however, i had several hundred grand to spend on car(s), i very well might likely get an s281-e.

The s281 "extreme" runs around 11.9's on slicks. Big deal. 11's are easy to reach. A $65K Mustang?

the s281-e will beat the cobra (and any other mustang) on both the strip and the road course. not to mention it's absolutely beautiful. whether that's worth an extra $30k to you tho, is up to you. honestly i can't explain where all that extra cash goes.

btw, saleen and roush use the 2v because it is much cheaper (although you wouldn't know it from their outrageous prices) to start with, and because it is much easier to produce torque down low with. of course, it also suffers from the same fate that ford v8s have suffered from for years and years... the intake and heads simply can't feed the engine enough air.

My friend has an 03 Roush Stage 2 vert, supposedly has about 290 horses. I drove the thing...it was slow as hell. I think my old 3.8 bird could have hung with him. Other then the fact that it has no *****, I like the body kit.
