'00 SS vs '03 Cobra.... One afternoon a couple of weeks ago, I was at a stop light and in my rearview mirror, I noticed an '03 Cobra approaching the line next to me. My gut instinct was to switch off the ASR and focus on the light. My instinct was right. When the crossing intersection light hit yellow i heard him start to stage. I did the same. When our light went green, we were off. He seemed to spin away 1st gear whereas I got a healthy dose of grip off the line with minimal spin. By the time Hit 80 I let off (it was not the best road to speed on) and he was about a car length behind me. I enjoyed my short but sweet first victory over an '03 Cobra.
I have a few bolt-ons.... exhaust, intake, hypertech, very minor things.

That would be an awesome race to see I agree. Oh and awesome kill on the cobra.

Re: '00 SS vs '03 Cobra.... I hope you're right unit213. Haven't had chance to run a Cobra yet, but I went 13.0@110 this saturday (best mph for the day 112) and figure I might give a stock one a good run. I just better find one before it gets much colder.

Re: '00 SS vs '03 Cobra.... I had a very similar encounter with an 03 Cobra. I pulled up next to him at a light. He asked if I wanted to run, I agreed. We went to about 70 or 80 and I was about 1-1 1/2 car lengths ahead. The driver of the Cobra was way cool. He had just bought the car a few hours ago. It sounded pretty good, you could hear the blower. I am not as impressed with them as I thought I would be, but they are really quick. And, I have to admit, this car looked badd ***. They have definately chagned my opinon about Mustangs.

Good kill. Stock '03 Cobras aren't all that fast. Well within the reach of lightly modded LS1's especially if the guy can't drive.
