With meth he'll have a whole lot more to tune with, that would be interesting ! Especially with you having a 125 shot and hopefully a good shifting tranny !
Anyone who drives a turbo car should know how to get there car going, meaning if there street racing and they have to brakeboost or downshift to spool, so be it ! What ever it takes !
On a built block, a STi can be very reliable depending on the tune and boost but thats why build it up right ? Stock STi's have forged crank, rods, and hypereutectics(go figure). The crank can safely handle 400whp along with the rods. The pistons are the weaklink !

The first and last races weren't me, they were my buddies. The first two races were my buddy in his '98 Z28 vs. a 300+ whp Sr t-4. The car at the end was a '89 Mirage with a 4G63 swap and 16G turbo. He was having severe fuel cut issues when he raced my other buddy in a Mazdaspeed 3.

Get your car tuned it will make a world of difference you might have won or came damn close.... and get some cutouts I have a 00 WS6 with a Ls6 intake, Coated Lt's Tsp Catted Y Pipe, cutout, custom 3"catback with a Dynomax bullit muffler.. My car gained about 40 hp from the tune, I bassicly lost alot of top end because my car was running SO LEAN, TTP did my tune and said that my car was so lean most likly from the Ls6 intake, that the computer could not make up for it, and he would not push it past 3k rpm... The cutout also made 11hp and 13lb tq... Get it tuned and i bet you would beat him....... Our cars basicly are the same with the same mods, they say every car is different but with the same mods it would help around the same..
After all my mods my car FELT alot faster, it would spin the tires alot easier.... BUT the a/f would not lie or the dyno... get a tune then rematch them you will win or be within a car length...

Pretune(the small green line LOOK CLOSE, to a Base tune the first one was my Final tune and dynopull, These were all back to back and never taken off the DYNOJET and NOT CORRECTED

Honorable death dude.
There's a local guy here with a (05 I think?) STI, 3096 turbo (not sure if it's the same thing as 30r? lol, I don't know turbo talk too well), untouched motor, E85. Making 400awhp @28psi (I'm pretty sure) on a Mustang dyno, he pulls a well driven bolton/2.8 pullied Cobra pretty decently up top.
The other day he actually ran a 11.7@127 at SAR. E85/race gas mix, not sure on the boost level. Stock motor, lol. I didn't know STI's were so stout till his car. He can drive the **** out of it too! It's one of the years with the crazy short rally tranny so the gears last like half a second each till you hit 5th, lol. Fun to ride in for sure.

Well they aren't 3500lbs, but maybe the fact that he was running an E85/race gas mix, and Texas 02 Z28 wasn't sure of his boost level on that run means that he was making more than 400whp
