Good kill. A full bolt on ls1 can beat a cobra with just a catback. Maybe you shift faster than the cobra owner.

 

dude i believe you. I raced one with my stock ls1 with a CAI and i nosed a guy with 03 cobra with pulley, 60lb injectors, bigger TB, CAI and exhaust. Plus i had a friend in the car with me.

With a few good bolt-ons, LS1's can run with stock Cobras, this has been beat to death for 5 years. Good luck when you find a pullied 460rwhp one and God forbid, a 670+rwhp one. Shoot for 135 traps to be safe.

If you don't have a vid, these things don't happen at LS1tech. A pullied, CAI, exhaust, bolt-on Cobra (455-475rwhp) will run mid/low 11's and trap 118-123mph. You will trap 105.

Before you get out of line, I am the mod here who knows every inch of a Cobra.

ya it was dynoed a lil over a year ago tho... i just recently debaffled the hood too tho, so at highway speeds, its got a pretty good pull... no tune either... im thinking with a tune, it should bump them numbers up a bit maybe..

 

a full bolt on LS1 should run with and most of the time beat a stock 03 cobra but sorry that guys post is WAAAAAY BS i got WAXED and WAXED is beat 4-5 cars by a pullied cobra to 140..there is no way and i mean no way a stock ls1 will beat a pullyed cobra...i have buddies with them and they could miss a 1st 2nd and 3rd and still own a stock ls1...hell they could take off in 3rd gear and let the ls1 take off in first and still win

 

I believe that you beat him. I think if the cobra owner knew how to drive the result would of been different. I cant tell you how many people I beat in my GTO who forgot to drop a gear in excitement. Anything can happen on the streets.

 

I have a debaffled hood too.. I'm not sure how much it helps, but it's really not worth mentioning.

Good kill OP. Don't let the BS flaggers get ya down. I've seen this matchup at the strip before, so it happening on the street is even more plausible.

 

I heard that these Cobras were fast.. found out there's a guy down the street with one.. I think his name is Kenny Bell or something. So anyway.. I did some homework. I found out they come equipped with a manual 6-speed transmission. I did the sensible thing and went to Sports Authority to pick up a sick RWD 21-speed. Some aftermarket shocks and an aerodynamic helmet and Ken got a nice view of the back of my LA Lights. He tried to make some BS excuse about only having 6 gears.. I didn't wanna hear it. ******* pansy Cobra owner.
