Me vs modded C6

Can someone tell me why people build these 1970's cars that are loud as all ******* hell, have HUGE sidewall slicks on them, all of them are automatics, and they are all slow as hell. What is the point? I'm clueless...
I will watch tire lifting 9 or low 10 second cars all day long. But these "drag cars" that are at every track on test-n-tune nights are about as annoying as the jr dragsters.

I'm sure you know it's called bracket racing. Its actually fun once you get into it, and it's very difficult compared to heads up racing. the nice thing about bracket racing is it's all skill. Going faster is only a product of how much money you have!

I don't think racing should be allowed in the name. Its not racing, its who can guess what they're going to run and be the most consistent.

Yeah bracket racing is kinda dumb. Launch, oh no too fast, nail the brakes, get back on it. ******* pointless. Just cause it requires skill doesnt make it cool, real races are who can go the fastest.

ok..ok... bracket racing is not for everyone, but like I said, heads up racing is all about who has the most money. Yes you can get beat by a girl in a 1980's station wagon, especially if she trees you!! But it's not just for slow cars, the NHRA is full of stock and super stock race cars that are crazy fast, stand on their bumpers, and still bracket race. ANYONE with the right amount of money can make their car go as fast as they want.

Well in all fairness i've seen a GTO at Speedworld here in AZ with a procharger running 12lbs of boost guy said something like 45x RWHP run a 15.5 @ 105 i beat him in my bone stock LT1 T/A. granted he was on street tires and seriously burning out thru the 1/8th mile mark haha.

Granted, but I was kind of refering to heads up racing, like ORSCA, NMCA and the likes. Sure on a grudge night you will beat guys that should be faster, but on a prepped track with similar driver abillity's, you probably won't. If you slap a turbo on your car, you would be hard to beat until the next guy comes along with a bigger turbo, or more nitrous.....that is what i'm saying. Good kill though

As long as it's a street car then it's badass. I think he was referring to the people who have "racecars" that can't get out of their own way. Personally I would never want a racecar of any kind. I'd take a 15 second street car over an 8 second car that I couldn't drive to the local cruise night.

First day the track opened only run me or the C6 owner got in. Track prep was non existent. We were both fighting for traction.
C6 was an A6 with mods I will not list because the BS flags will get thrown left and right.
Mach 1 was 5 speed, stock gears, no tune, and bolt ons on Nitto tires.
Oh excuse the video camera operator. It was her first time filming. I just got the video camera.
