Put a ***** *** Challenger driver in his place yesterday
I am down visiting some friends in NC for the past week, yesterday we were driving to an indoor go-kart place and we had to hop on the highway. It was beautiful out so I had my T-Tops off and windows down just cruising. I saw behind me a strange set of headlights comming up (it was daytime) and I slowed down just to see what it was. Turns out it was a orange Challenger R/T. We were next to each other for a little while when I downshifted for 6th to 4th, I looked over at the driver and he looked at me and put his hand over his mouth like he was yawning, so I put it in 3rd gear still having the top of 2nd left. He took off so I mashed it and quickly reeled him in and took off. It was a very short race though, nothing crazy at all. The whole rest of the way when he was next to me he woulden't even look over at all. Just though I would share, my mods are in my sig...like it matters lol.

IT is true that most of those guys think that those cars are the fastest cars out there, obviously they have forgotten about a good ol ls1.. That leads me to a question. Could a stock 02 trans am or firebird beat a stock challenger? I would think yes but I guess thats why I am asking the question.

R/T or SRT8

R/T would get ******* murdered by ls1. SRT8s..any of the line up...is a good *** race for the ls1. All the srt 8 line up, as far as I know, have dipped into 12s, same with some ls1s. Driver/track/variables of course, but around the same et/traps as ls1s. I hear the srt8s have pretty nice top end too..I have yet to race one. GF's dad's neighbor has a srt8 I wanted to race...but since my car went down, I'm doing H/C, so it wont be much of a race now lol. If they take it to the track, instead of their 408/200 shot duster, I'll find out the times, and see how even we would have been.

Yea, that is what I was implying. I hear those motors, along with the ls2s, love the top end. Rolls could vary well be their strong suite. Likewise, I hear they can hook well too. From a dig, drivers race. Hopefully some srt8 guys can chime in.

Edmunds tested R/T at 14.1 in 1/4th mile.

X3 million, but eh the new camaro is gunna be a huge pig too, everyone wants a fast car with good crash ratings thats big on the inside so what'd they expect of coarse its gunna weigh 2 tons!

Of course I'm talking about looks. I'm sure the thing will haul some *** with the LS3 under the hood.

Good kill and yea, R/T vs any LS1 would be a joke. An SRT8 vs a stock-ish LS1 is close with the advantage going to the SRT8 above 110mph. Now if my SRT8 was only 3800lbs, it would be really sweet!
The Camaro is gonna be a pig too (3900lbs) BUT with the modability of the LS3, it should do well, though it is going to take 550-580rwhp to get it into the 10's, my guess anyway. I just hope they come up with a live axle swap, not that I'm buying one but still.....
A 2006 C6Z or a 2008 C6 for $35K is going to be a much better platform for modding than an LS3 Camaro, even if it is brand new.

If my finacial situation allows for it when I'm finished paying off the SRT, thats exactly where I'm going.
