Obviously they aren't fast in stock form, but modded , anything can be fast. The second fastest car I've ever been in (not from a dig, but just plain press you back in your seat fast) was a very nicely modded and non-riced out Civic. I guarantee that car will pull on my bolt-on/cam/100 shot 02 Z28.

low 14s is pretty good for a stock honda. Honda has made some of the slowest cars ever made. It is nothing to go to my trick and see some of them running 17s ,16s.Heck my minivan can beat some of them! LOL
I have never seen an second one at local track. Seen one supercharged running think it was mid 12s and another turbo ghetto build runnning mid or high 12s. The turbo one blew up after a few runs.
I also got lined up with a turboed one in my 96 z which was near stock ast the time. I ran a 14.3 think it was and he ran like a 16. He couldn't get any traction and had like a 2.8 60ft and had to stay out of it to keep it off the wall.He was on street tires I was on nitto drag radials. Our track is 1600 feet above sea level.
I have never been beat to a honda at our local track , as said there were some faster ones just never lined up against them. Supposed of course there are some 10 second ones but never seen a 10 second or even 11 second one at local track.
Nowadays don't expect to lose to any honda around here unless my boost is turned way down or mabye if am on my nittos or toyo drag radials that plan on running for street instead of the mt et streets that plan to run for track or serious playing. And for sure those fast hondas better be on drag tires hooking up fwd is hard,very hard without drag tires.Another thing to keep in mind.Those hondas even running 12s at local track were on drag slicks. So onn the street on street tires they would be much much slower.
Course our rwd cars can get pretty slow on street on street tires too.
I notice so far my liscence plate seems to keep the honda boys from challenging me and don't street race anyway so not a big deal. This year am installing my twin turbo and 408 emblems and am changing my blow offs to louder types. I am a bit ricer I guess but like a loud blow off. Also my turbos are not that loud thru the b and b if my cutout is closed but open it with the switch and then the turbos are pretty darn loud and car sounds like an f 16 ! LOL
Boosted 4 bangers can be fun. I have a highly modded up boosted 97 talon and building a gutted 91 talon for the track but boosted v8 or boosted v10 or v12 are still better!
Torque is one of the main reasons. You have to rev hell out of these little four bangers which can give a pretty crappy narrow powerband especialy for the street. For racing well don't matter as much if your turbo spools at 5000 rpm to your 7500 redlline. On the street I much prefer my 2500 to 7000 powerband in my 99 TT 408. And while hitting 500 engine or even a bit more is certainly doable in a 4 banger at high boost its much easier to do say 1000 engine hp in a v8 at pretty low boost.
I also way would rather have a slow f body anyday than a fast honda if had to choose.
Only honda that is even close to a supercar is the nsx. They should bring out more like that. But also give kudos for honda for still putting out two door coupes. Subaru should take a lesson from honda and offer the wrx or sts as two door coupe optional.

i personally hated english in highschool cause i wasnt good at it, but i know kids with DS that can write that well.
[ and in no way was that ment to be a derogatory comment towards people with DS, one of my best friends older brothers has DS and he is actually pretty effin cool, and alot more clever than most would expect ]
