^ He was saying if the Cobra took the IRS out and switched to a SRA he would go from a 11.80 to a 10.90

About 6200-6300 rpm's. My shift point is 6700 so my setup is pretty effecient for the quarter mile. I'm going to step down the gears a notch once a 12 bolt goes in to allow for more trap speed. But for now it's perfect.

Thanks man. The car is running strong for what it has. But I'm not lying when I say the bald drag radials are killing me. I can dead hook no problems when they are 25-100% tread. But once under 25% the traction gets worse and worse as they get balder and balder.

Just ask John. Bald sucks!

J/K

Johns teaches a MMA class so pissing him off is NOT on my list of things to do

He would be wise indeed to invest in that. At least if drag racing is going to be a regular hobby for him.

Thanks for the props!

I mean, err uhh.

Although I have to admit that the right setup with the right driver makes a big difference. We've both seen Stutterin John rip off some great 60's and ET's with his cam only M6 LS1 Camaro. That's a guy that really knows how to rip through them gears. BASTARD!

Just kidding.

That's due to the compound wearing out and not getting sticky anymore when heated up. The tread itself isn't for traction on the smooth sruface of the track, just for helping on wet roads so you can drive them on the street.

They usually turn blue when they are cycled out like that. I use to run race tires on my bike and you could tell when they were about done they would start turning blue. Too many heat cycles. I usually had them about wore out by the time they turned blue anyways which sounds like the OP's case so no big deal, just get some new ones.
