Yeah, that Eaton whine is disconcerting... until you run a stock Lightning hearing that obscene whine and walk on by him. Very odd....just doesn't seem like the right outcome is happening lol.

It was yellow, and either an 03/04. couldnt tell ya. I do know i went to the track on friday to the 1/8 mile in denton, and there was a termi, im assuming stock, with a headlight missing (CAI im guessing) running like on avg high 8.5s does this seem right?

Yeah, they can be tricky from a dead stop without the right tire/suspension. Like you witnessed first hand, 70+ is where these cars just really start to pull. A stock (or close to it) Cobra isn't really going to shine at an 1/8th track unless it has a great wheel man.
