Suprised by Jetta!
I was lined up at a light with a new Jetta with nice rims. Cool looking car not all riced up. Any way I take off like normal and he jumps a little so I nail it and pull him to about the middle of my door.
This is where it gets a little weird cause he stayed there for a while. Then I hear his (obiously not stock sounding) blowoff when he shifts, but I had already guessed it wasn't stock. In second I pulled him another half and third I creeped a whole length then shut down.
I tried to get him to pull over but he said he had to go, so no specs on the car but I was impressed.
Moral of this story: I almost got my *** kicked by a Jetta

I hate to say it here but you guys are pretty open minded. The Z is gone come early next year. I'm putting together my 93 notch right now and when it's done I'm gonna save a little cash and trade in the Z for a cobra.
Used of course. Can't justify a house payment for a car.

Hey whats wrong with jettas? Well, they can be quick with not too much invested in them, especially the 1.8T engine. As excal said, easy to get like 400 hp out of. Now if only I had something like that in my car... ... weighs 700lbs less... ... But, Id rather have an LS1

What's wrong with a Jetta? Are you kidding me? 1) Ugly little bread box 2) A teenage girlie car 3) slow as hell
400 hp? Again, are you kidding me? Who would want to put the time, effort, and money (lots of that) into a POS when you could buy a nice f-body or stang, put less amount of time, effort, and money and get better results? C'mon fellas, this is the LS1 Tech site, not the LS1.com site, get a grip

i would definately go for a better car to start out with. but you can do your basic BPU on that car and make decent power. good kill even though he freaked you out for a sec. good luck with finding the cobra glue!

I feel guilty enough riding a ZX9 , But I can't stand the Import VS. American Muscle debate
Put 10k in a import and yes it will go fast!
Put 10k in Stang or LS1 or GN and it will go FASTER!
Its all matter of cash, but you can bet the Domestic rides (with mods) will out last the Imports (with mods).
Its just a matter of time before the Import pukes parts
Just my opinion
