great story, I keep trying to talk my friend Matt who owns tune time into buying a Buick Rainier and putting an SS powertrain in it with a maggie... he wants to do it to a Colorado/Canyon reg cab. Outside of your truck i have not seen any other trucks like these getting the upgrade, you'd figure there would be more out there & on here? best of luck with it.
He has a 2dr blazer extreme at the shop now with an LS1 & a huge turbo on it, completely stock looking, stock wheels (with DR's), guy has run upwards of 130mph down the track (E-Town).. no cage.. says it's quite the ride in a vehicle that was never meant to see those speeds let alone in under 11 seconds lol..

WOW That is fast!! I'll get there. what is done to yours? I left a lot on the table with this build. It is factory upper end ,243 heads, truck intake. The exhaust is stock to, I just removed the cats. What RWHP are you putting down?

They come with a 5.3. Its a drop in, not difficult. Scott did it in his garage. He had some issues but it wasn't because of the block bolting in the mounts.

well the ext TB comes with 5.3 and the SS obvously comes with the 6.0 LS2. probably have to change wire harness and computer and maybe mounts but OEM parts should make it relatively easy (well easy to say.. lol)

Thats the thing that makes GM cool. Almost all of their engines will fit in another car that came with a similar engine. LS1, LS6, LS7, LS9 5.3 etc. They all have the same motor mount locations and are interchangable. The old ones are the same. Hell the big blocks fit in the same mounts but they have the downfall of finding headers that fit the chassis.

lol... i hear ya there... but i guess what i was trying to say was i wouldnt think too much fabbing would need to be done since the trucks came from the factory with v8 options. i dunno though, i could be way off.

my girl has a regular tb lt and its a nice truck and quick enough with the 4.2. I would like to have a 408 in that bitch or see what the 4.2 could do with some boost

It's a direct swap. No modifying of any harnesses. Now for a V6 to 408......forget it. Brain damage.
