5th gen is faster than 4th IMO, but stock for stock. Those SS will be damn quick when a bit modded. Look at the G8 GT that weights more but theyre quick with just a tune/CAI/cat back. So with the extra displacement/less weight, they will be quicker than the G8.
Saw (and heard) a cammed G8 last night and man, I can't wait to see and hear some modified 5th gens. Thing sounded mean as hell for a sedan. With the way the 5th gen looks, a lopey cam would set it off.

I'm going to guess I/E/T 5th gens in negative DA will trap 115mph, expertly driven. Don't know about the 26hp autotragic. Wrote an article about what a mistake GM made handicapping the automatic like that.

When my Y2K Z28 was bone stock it ran 12.96 @ 109 ... stock for stock it sounds like a drivers race to me ... nice kill.

thanks man. I have been wanting to race my friend in his new G6 GXP, he thinks its pretty fast, but when i told him about this he said there was no way he was going to race me now lol. I was going to give him a huge head start too. Oh well, one of my other friends has a terminator with full exhaust, gears, and CAI, that might be a better race. I will prolly get beat by him though. He said he runs 8.30's in the 1/8th. What do you guys think, im not sure what my car would run in the 1/8. I need to get to the track

The G6 owner is delusional. A Terminator with gears and I/E s/b running better than 8.3s unless he has traction problems. My tuned SRT-8 does that. What are his trap speeds?

No two tracks are the same. Most of the 1/8ths I know aren't exactly 1/8th and the one I go to alot is slightly long. My times are .3 off between two tracks that are 20 minutes from each other.
