99 Z28 vs. 09 WRX
A coworker bought an 09 WRX, the 4 door coupe not the hatch, about 8 months ago. I think it's pretty much stock. Well my Camaro was in the garage for the winter, then we were on different shifts when I got it out, and I had an 09 Ram I was driving for work, so I wasn't really driving the Camaro much.
Finally today I drove it to work. He had been talking crap on and off and I told him I'm ready when he is. So I followed him out of the parking lot and we caught a light to turn right onto a 4-lane highway. So he's in the right lane and I move over into to get into the left lane and thought he would let me get up next to him. Instead he takes off with me atleast 2 car lengths behind him while I'm rolling at about 25 mph. So I put the hammer down. Took a little bit to get caught up since he had the jump and 2 lengths head start but I caught him by 80ish and put 2 lengths on him by 115, and I shut it down because I thought my hat was going to get sucked out of the car since the T-tops were off and the windows were down. We caught up to traffic and didn't get to run again.
I wish we could have gone from a dig to give him more of a chance. I think with my t-tops in and an even start from any roll speed I would have put a bus length on him. From a dig, if he can launch it would have been a better run since I would be fighting for traction because with my recently added 3.73's, BFG KDW's just want to spin from a dig. Anyway first run I've had in quite some time and I think it would have been much worse for him with an even start.

I agree, the look better than the STI hatch's. He was telling me in the next year or two they are making the 4 door coupe style in the STI version and he was going to upgrade to that, but we'll see.

Can't help much. I always wondered if anybody had ever done back to back runs at the dragstrip with ttops in and out and whether or not the drag made a difference. Of course it would have to be a place without much rules.
