That is a decent time for the prior '07 models. Take a look at this link and the bell curve, http://my350z.com/forum/drag/233840-...ons-stock.html
None of these are 370s either.

Go to www.the370z.com <--- There's a lot of statistics about the 370z on it. There's some peeps that are obviously fan-boys of the Z but there are others that are more realistic about it's performance.

If you think 300 lbs. is a little, then I'd hate to see what a lot is. 2009 G37 base coupe=3,633 lbs., 2009 G37 base sedan=3,581 lbs., 2009 370Z base, manual=3,232, 2009 370Z base, automatic=3,269 lbs. A pretty big difference if you ask me. Stock for stock, a 4th. gen. Camaro with a manual vs. a 2009 370Z manual or stick is a good driver's race. The Camaro has the check in the torque department and the 370Z has the check in the weight department. there pretty equal in aerodynamics, also pretty equal is the manual in the Camaro up against a manual or auto. 370Z. The auto. is awesome, it's a 7 speed automatic. The same in my G37. But I still like the torque in my Camaro.

get u a mail order tune and some long tubes and youll be good, prob just the tune would put you in front but the instant you see a 3.7l with a few boltons your done for. maybe some simple stuff would suit you like a UD pulley and a K&N air filter. theres also a thread about swapping for the truck coils and gaining 10hp and 19tq measured at the wheels for like 200 bucks.

Stillen Gen 3 Long Tube Intakes on the 370z dyno'd 15RWHP more alone. I couldn't believe the numbers myself, but I started seeing independent dynos on different machines (dyno jets, mustangs, etc) and they were all coming up with huge gains.
Berk test pipes, Stillen Gen 3 intakes, and pretty much any cat back exhaust was yielding serious numbers to the ground. With just those 3 items they're making over 300 to the ground. Apparently, there was a lot to gain from simple bolt-ons. There's also headers out, but I don't believe they made that much of a difference (maybe 10RWHP). Either way, F-bodies are going to need to step up their game and get LTs, CIA and a dyno tune to stay in front of the new Zs.
I haven't raced a new Z yet in my Z06, but I'm anxious to. Had an opportunity last week, but I didn't really know the car yet, so I didn't do it.

^^^ Yeah thats basiclly the cliffs notes of this thread, theres already a **** ton out for em and there responding very well to boltons. I havent run into one yet either but i am also anxious and stepping up my game as fast as the checkbook allows lol. My biggest problem now is the growing pile of parts that needs to be installed LOL.

I caught this same 370z last week as i was on my way home!
My bottle pressure was very low around 700psi probably had maybe 3lb's in the tank at the time i tried to line up with him at around 50mph and he just gunned it thinking maybe an LT1 wasnt a match for his mighty Z..lol Well i had my **** in second and punched it right as he did he had the advantage of being 3 cars ahead of me from the start but i started pulling on him and we shut down around 110 with me at his door!
If my bottle was full and we actually lined up i would have put some good lenthgs on him!..lol He was suprised...Now Rudy get that ls6 manifold and tune up and lets get a rematch together for you and this Z!

Kudos to the 370z. Really excellent package: concept car looks, hard to get caught in wrong gear auto or manual, sounds awesome, and does in on moderate displ. all motor 6-cylinder.
I have a near-stock LS1 A4 (LS6 intake, ported TB, cat-back, iridium AC plugs, lid) and I still feel really vunerable against cars like the 370z or even many V8 luxury sedans of today. I will someday jump to a drop in LS7 and be happy with near-OEM refinement and 12.0 @ 120 mph on reg. radials (with comfort of knowing I can add another 10 mph traps without too much hassle).
Take comfort though, because there are been that done that solutions to take on a Carerra GT from 0-1/4 mile. Since you can go to any sea-level track and you'll see heavy worked streetable domestic V8 rides running 10s/11s at 115-130+ mph all night long without fanfare and done so via Ford 289-302/351+, MOPARS, and GM 350-454+cid, LT1/LT4-based, LS, etc.

370z stock has run 13.2@107mph in one of the magz there no joke. and really to bash nissan is kinda stupid. there engines are good quality and last a while. and there trans are no slouches either. this is just in response to the guy on the first page resorting to "well its nissan" as an excuse that is less of a car.. pretty good ricer mentality there.

^^^ Right. Also know that the G37 and 370z are completely different cars. The ONLY thing they share is the same motor. Everything else is different. Suspension, weight, transmission, differential, wheels, tires, brakes, chassis, wheel-base, etc. I can go on and on about the differences...
The 370z is the best bang for your buck when it comes to buying a new car for the track. The only short comings they have are that they don't make a lot of torque and that currently they have oil-temp problems.
The difference between a G37 and 370z is the difference between an LS2 Corvette and 6L Chevy truck. They have completely different demographics and targeted markets. They achieve completely different goals and therefore do not perform at all the same class as the other.
