Me vs. Arctic
I thought i'd post this here as well since the guy I ran is a member here that goes by the name 'arctic'. I've ran across this guy a few times and we have been dying to run eachother.
My car: 2004 Cobra Vert, Steigemeier IV, 2.93 upper/ Metco 4lb lower, BF idlers, JLT CAI, Accufab TB, Tri-ax shifter, 4.10 gears and some suspension work, M/T 305/35-18 Dr's out back. The car was tuned by Sac Mustangs and put down 505/507.
His car: 2000 Camaro SS, 6-speed, stock shortblock, Full bolt-ons, LT's (not sure what kind but they were coated), o/r Y-pipe & Exhaust, 100-shot wet kit, Tuned, 4.10 gears and stock rear-end, suspension work and in his words "a little weight reduction". M/T ET Drag radials rear & M/T's front with Weld Prostars. He put down 460-ish rwhp on spray can't remember the exact number.
First Run - 30 roll. He honks, I get the hit. And to my suprise he reals me in pretty easily. I'm like WTF? I got this guy beat by 40whp. He continues to pull on me and ends up about 2 cars on me by at 120 before we shut down.
Second Run - 50 roll. I honk and give him the hit. That was a mistake. He jumps on me yet again and this time pulls on me a little harder. We shut down at around 130 with him about 2.5 cars ahead.
Final Run - From a dig. He honks off and then rips my car hard out of the whole. When I say rip I MEAN RIP!!! He pulls on me instantly by several cars and by the first part of third I just give up and shut down.
I mean this guys car was hooking and hard! I guess I should have had a clue when he pulls up with the big 'n littles. All the other times i've seen him he's been on 'Vette wheels and Drag radials. I was dead stunned. I had raced several LS1's before including a few cam-only cars and have won every time. I would of never expected a bolt-on car with just a 100-shot to run this well, but when I thought about it weight played a HUGE roll in this competition. That along with the fact this guy wasn't playing around with his suspension setup.
Afterwards both of us along with a mutual friend go back to his house. This guy has toys! I pull up and it looks like a mini parking lot in front of this guys house. He took me for a ride in some special Mercedez Benz that I would swear felt as fast as my Cobra. All in all he was a great guy and I had lots of fun.

Nice races, I cant believe you posted your losses in the manner you did, it must be a first around here, lol. No **** talking or excuses.
Yeah ditch those 4.10's for sure, my buddy just got rid of his 3.90's and went with a 3.73 and he is very happy.

I'm already one step ahead. I've got a set of 3.73 gears from my last Cobra ready to go in.

Nice races/stories!! LSx cars are definately a force to be reckoned with on nitrous. They are known for being quite nasty with a shot on them. I think GM made a nitrous motor t hen yanked the system off and massed produced it.

AHAHAH....+gazillion Stop. LOL
SEriously though......I bet he has a much better TQ band, better suspension setup, and weighs 500 less pounds. I'm not surprised you lost.
And Good thing you're getting rid of those 4.10s. I never understood why anyone would do that in a cobra/PD blower.
