Ya i wish i could put my V on a diet, my car is about 300lbs heavier then your gto if you were 3600 before you took out 100lbs of stuff....
I also gotta start saving for a clutch soon, when it gets toasty after a run or 2 I can see it slip in 3-4th and 4 to 5th shifts...
But your gto does move, my buddie with the c6 was suprised. Wish it was alittle warmer out for the tires to grip.
I gotta admit I was alittle scared in his car , and ive done some stupid stuff with cars in my time so i dont get scared often...

Was in a vette that put down a bit too much power and did a 360 in the middle of the road and smashed the far curb and then fishtailed and hit the other curb.
Been in a camaro with the speedo pegged (for a LONG ****** time) and the guy got off the gas to fast and the back end of the car started wagging back and forth..
I am not really comfortable being a passenger anymore. I've found other people can be pretty dangerous.

I'm pretty much always scared as a passenger.. As a passenger I was in a honda that spun taking an offramp at 100+, spun a bunch of times in the middle of the offramp and amazingly didnt hit ANYTHING.

But not the one i was in, the tires were so bad, balancing was so off and it just kept going realy sideways in 2nd and 3rd and was all over the road....

sciff5, we can probably do a cruise out east sometime as alot of us are in the centra CT area.
maxspeed96ct, I hear you about the weight, but I'd think twice before removing items. I have no problem stripping down a Camaro or Mustang, but a CTS-V is a bit too luxury for me to start taking things out. My Z28 had a bit removed, but my G8 will be remaining full weight (minus replacement items like the exhaust which will probably be lighter than stock when I get a new one). Just think about it a while before you do it and don't rush in.
I will be around this weekend, but it'll be in the G8. Monster just let us know that there was a problem with a few clutches and they are sending me a brand new one. I won't get it until next week and thenit'll probably be next weekend before I get it in. After that I'll be able to drive it, but it'll take 500 break in miles (again) before I can have any real fun with it.
