Default H/C/I Camaro vs. Roushcharged 08 GT w/8.5lbs

I ran a buddy of mine a few weeks ago with a 2008 Mustang GT (3 valve) 5 speed with a Roushcharger pullied for 8.5 lbs of boost, stock headers, stock gears, lowered on 20" wheels with regular street tires.

We ran once from a stop and once from a 1st gear roll, approx. 20mph.

From a stop I pulled about 3-4 cars on him in 1st and 2nd gears which I had expected (I have ET Streets) but I stopped pulling at about 50mph and the 3-4 car length gap stayed the same to 120ish.

From a roll was a different story. We ran from a slow 1st gear roll and ran to 120. I put a half a car on him in 1st gear and he hung on my door handle all the way to 120. I was honestly pretty suprized.

This has been bugging me so my question to you all is: 2008 GT, Roushcharger, 8.5 lbs boost, how fast should this car be for 1/4 mile trap speed? Is he BS'ing me on his mods? My mods and times are in my sig.

He might have some more boost. I don't see 116, but ya never know. What was the first gear roll? 30?

Tell him to ditch the 20's. I would guess he should trap 112-115 with 17" wheels.

I didn't realize a pulley had come out for the Roushcharger to put out 8.5psi. Last I heard you could only pulley them to 7psi.

I don't get too much into the roushchargers though, so I could be WAY off.

Edit: lemme clarify:

2.57" pulley most guys are seeing 7psi, but obviously there are variables.

Gotcha, my car must've not liked the air that night. How much slower with the 20's?

Cool, I'm just going off of what he said. I don't know 3 valve motors or roushchargers that much, this is all news to me.

i dunno , my buddy has a 2010 with cams, long tubes, gears, driveshaft and all and is only trapping 112. and he drives the absolute **** out of it. could be is gears keeping the mph down but i dont imagine the 08 only has a blower and held with you like that, im guessing full exhaust at least headers back which would help the blower with the air.

and why 3.23s on your car, put some 373s or 410 and wake that thing up

Like I said, I was pretty suprized that he kept up with just the blower. Maybe the 3V motors respond very well to boost, dunno.

I won't do a gear change in the stock rear, not worth it for the minimal gains. When I do a 12 bolt I'll go to a 3.73 or maybe a 4.10 with a 28" tire so I can still spray.

You and I run ridiculously similar times with almost the same weight and power, but completely different drivetrain and H/C setups. Just noted for no reason in particular.

I run 11.74 @ 117 with 408/380. LS6 heads and 224/228 cam with stock LS6 intake and ported TB. 4.10s, MN12 6-speed, 12-bolt, 3.5" driveshaft. ~3,500 pounds without me in it.

I just always find it interesting when two of the same car with totally different setups are running so close and making such similar power.

I think it's pretty interesting too. I bet your car is much more fun to drive though, haha. I always contemplated an M6 swap.

Nice kill

And i noticed that kinda thing happens alot with LS1's completely different setups but run almost exactly alike some even have better dyno numbers. Me and a couple buddies did a race with all three of us. My car made 372rwhp with a TR224 cam, home ported heads, stall the usual bolt on mods, Turbo SS stock except for the turbo system moser 12bolt w/3.73's , WS6 alot bigger cam then me 6 speed and he said he dynoed around 420rwhp. We were all locked together when we took off the SS started pulling slightly on the topend obviously. And i just got done building a guys trans am with a pretty big cam, ported polished bigger valves and milled heads with exhaust that's it and he is dead even with all of us too.
