new viper vs 99z28
So I'm on my way home for my inlaws house just rolling easy at about 40, then this all silver viper pulls up next to me car was beautiful looked like a newer one like a 08-09. He gives me a rev and I slow down no honks we go from about thirty, we stay together for a little then he walks away from me. He didn't walk away that hard though I have been walked harder by built camaros. So he gives me about three lengths we come to a dead stop on the freeway there was no traffic Like this was meant to happen. He flicks his lights three times and I take off and he takes off hard right behind me but that fool could not catch me. I mean I could still see him about that same three lengths in my mirror and then I think he let out because he just vanished after a bit. So I slow all the way back down to like thirty so that he could catch up and I could ask what year the car was and the power output etc. But he wouldn't get up next to me I rolled my windows down and waved him ahead but he wouldn't get up next to me again was he embarassed that he could not catch the fbody. I mean he gave me 3 lengths and my car is no pig I mean I make pretty good power its was just funny I didnt not expect that at all though. I thought he would of walked me down those cars put out like 600hp to the crank right. I'm just right there at 400 rwhp so he has a good bit on me I assume he also should be lighter than me I wish I could of asked him about the car but he was being a lame.

actually Id guarantee you raced a silver convertable 2003-2006 SRT10...
these cars are 500 crank HP and only dyno around 425-450 rwhp..
a 2003 srt10 viper looks 99% like a 2008 Viper..The only noticible differance is the 08 Viper has a slightly more agressive hood..
A 2008-2009 Viper will trap 126-130 mph..Very unlikely you held your own with one of them as even a bad driver would stilll be able to trapp around 122-124 mph..
On the other hand a 2003-2006 Viper will trapp 118-122 mph..A really bad driver will be in the 114-116 range...
With your mods/rwhp/auto trannie/3.23 gearing and a weight of 3500 pounds Id assume you would trapp in the 113-116 mph range..Or about 2002 Z06 territory as far as trapp speed and 12.0-12.3 2003-2006 SRT10 Viper territory as far as ET....
GOOD KILL and those mods are finally paying off...Seems like a pretty legit win to me

I would consider anyone trapping 118 in a Gen 3 (2003-2006) SRT-10 a bad driver. That's more in the area of a '96-02 GTS/RT-10. A Gen 3 "should" normally be in the 121-124 range.

honestly Ive had a 99 gen 2 and a 2003 gen 3 and the gen3 will trapp maybe 1.5 mph higher stock for stock...
Id say 118.5 on average for a gen 2 and 120.0 on average for a gen 3..
The record for a stock gen 2 is 11.6 at 122.0 mph and the record for a stock gen 3 is 11.5 at 123.5 mph...
In the 1/4 mile they are very close...the gen 3 will defiently dyno around 440 rwhp while the gen 2 will dyno around 410 rwhp..But the gen 2 puts the power down better and makes it so close..
But from 0-150 mph were the extra 30 rwhp and arodynamics come into play a gen 2 will go from 0-150 mph in 22.0 seconds while a gen 3 will do the same in 19.5 seconds...
For referance a 2002 Z06 will do it in 24.0 seconds and a C6Z06 will do it in 17.5 seconds...

good kill man, your car rolls out i know because ive ridden along in it before, a viper shouldnt have anything for you from a dig with your stall but from a roll they "should" be able to pull past you i would think it was the pre-srt10 because the new one is alot faster
