9 second doofus

9 second doofus Drivin the Z for what's likey the last time this year, I pull into a gas- station quick mart. This kid with a late 80's stang Gt with Pep boys (I think the brand was ARE) aftermarket wheels is filling up with gas. When he sees me he hurriedly finished the fill up and runs to start his car and revs the engine. I chuckle to myself and go inside the store- I look outside and this kid pulled up next to my car and is waiting. I go outside- dialogue as follows:
Kid: What did you do to your car?
Me: A couple little things (as the cackle of the cam reverberates off the building).
Kid: What's it run?
Me: It goes pretty good. What do you turn?
Kid: 9's
(This stang has a catback, obviously no cam, no supercharger)
Me: Really, that's impressive. Don't the track officials give you a hard time with no roll cage?
Kid: I've got subframe connectors.
Me: Oh.
Kid: Wanna see the motor?
Me:ok
Kid: (pops the hood to reveal a stock 5.0) I'm gettin' the supercharger next week (the classic next week mod)
Me: What's the displacement?
Kid: Huh?
Me: How many cubes?
Kid: It's a 302 stroker
Me: 302 stroked to what?
Kid: I've got the build sheet at home.
Me: Oh. What heads do you have.
Kid GT-40- wanna race for titles?
Me: I don't own the car outright, but I'll go for cash.
Kid: How much? $500?
Me: Ok lets go.
Kid: Umm lemme get your phone number and mabye we can go to the drags in the spring.
So I let him off the hook- doubt I'd get paid anyway. Besides I'm sure his 9 sec. ride would destroy my wimpy LS1.

9 second 1/8th mile maybe. actually that's right about on par, as my mustang did a 9.58 @ 73mph in the 1/8th (well, actually, it was by the 1/8th mark on a 1/4 mile track, but that's just splitting hairs).
Jesus i think it is time i go shoot myself to have to say i OWN a mustang. man the kids are so dumb, and they are the same age as i am. I am thankful everytime i hear a story like this, that my dad got me into building carbs and big blocks when i was 10

you know it seems to me that there are more and morev 9sec. stock 5.0 stangs around latly oh and eclypses as well... guess it was a special package a certant year ... i love the next week mod. i always have to laugh when ever some one uses that with me

I have this neighbor who is a die-hard ford man. He just bought a new gt and says it is a special edition with 305 hp. . It isnt a mach 1 its a regular gt. oh he also had an LTD that would break lose spinning at 115 mph. I dont talk cars with him much because i would go crazy. But i did send word that when he was ready he could race my slow camaro

Someone needs to start a thread about the dumbest **** someone has ever told you about there car.
When I was younger there was a guy in my hood that said his dad had a 60 something Ford Fairlane that would spin ALL 4 TIRES
if you floored it going 60 mph. You know the Fairlane had all wheel drive back in 1965 didn't you? What a dumbass!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't put mustang owners in with the rice crowd!
There are plenty of v6 f-body/cavalier guys on the GM side too!
As for stupidest **** I've been told, some guy told me about his 9 second eclipse, and offered to race my friend in his 2000 silverado with pipes. I laughed and said that truck only ran 17's or so. But I did have a proven 11 second vehicle he would have no trouble smoking in that eclispe if he wanted to run.
When I told him all about my bike running an 11.57 1/4 he didn't want to race anymore I think. Well, he started singing some rap song, which I took as a refusal to race.
(It was nappy roots btw)
