Ran a new saleen
saw a new saleen mods unknow besides an exhaust and decided to show him a lesson. so we lined up at 60, it would have been perfect for 2nd but i decided to leave it in 3rd. so i was at about 3500 so it was low, im waiting he takes the hit and then im off. he started about a car car and a half ahead. i brought 3rd to 6500 and slammed 4th i was pulling past him but not fast we ran it to 120 and i was maybe a car ahead. i dont know his mods but are they that fast or was it just because i was in 3rd instead of 2nd and gave him the hit. i didint think they were that fast i was only pulling on him slowly deff suprised me

if the new saleens are like the sn95 mustangs you can get them with a supercharger and without, only things thats hurts the saleens is most of them weigh a little bit more then a regular GT but still hold there own, i bet it was blown.

I ran a non-blown saleen, (the body style before this **** monstrosity that just came out), and all I had was a stall, nittos, and exhaust.
Yanked him pretty good from the light because my nittos were really warmed up, and ended about 3 cars ahead of him at 70.

coming in to say good kill before the mustang guys swoop in with their theories of impossibility that any f-body beat any mustang
Watch me get flamed for that joke too. I love it.

Wow, what did we do? D:
Either way, the Saleens aren't straight line cars in the first place. Take it to a road course and it'll be happy.
It most likely was the blown version but probably not the extreme.

it more than likely was the blown version. Like previously mentioned, you have a weight advantage over the stang. Id imagine your car is putting down somwhere between 370rwhp-390rwhp??? with a good tune of course. Either way good kill.

This threads funny. It's like hearing a group of virgins talking about 'how to hump'. You know, acting like they have a clue but they obviously don't to the point where defensiveness, put downs, and questions all come into play.
And on the serious side of your inquiry; I don't see how it 'has' to be the S/C version. An S281 with bolt ons (you admitted you have no idea what he had done) combined with you starting in 3500rpms could have stayed with you IMO. Then again, IDK how much power you're putting out.

For real though, I posted that Saleen race however long ago it was, and I had like two people that actually cared enough to say "nice kill" before wandering off.

I live in Greenville too. What part are you around? Don't think I've ever ran you before. Then again there are LS1s left and right so I might have seen you but didn't know it.

From what I've seen its very rare Saleen owners mod their car alot. Most of them are ignorant (hell you have to be to pay $50,000 for a GT with a body kit and wheels) and think their car came from Saleen faster than anything on the road.
